What New Products are You Starting?

Generally, i introduce skincare products slowly into my routine as I have sensitive skin. Ideally no more than 1 new product every 10 days – 2 weeks in each category.
Eg New Face wash & new moisturiser is ok staggerred but not 2 moisturisers together.

The rationale for that is if there is any skin irritations/rashes/breakouts, i can identify which product caused of the problem. Patch test is important too. Also, if the product is working wonders, i know that the difference in my routine is that new product then i can credit the skin improvements to the product.

After my recent hauls, i have been receiving more products than time can provide. I literally have to sit down and look at my stash list to determine what to try next.

I just emptied some products and am excited to try new products and have lined up some other.

New products i am trying next

  • SkinActives Anti-Aging Cream 5ml (probably last 1 week or less) then CosRX Snail Mucin Power Esence Essence and cream.
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask too since it is a different category.
  • New Directions Rose Range Face Cleanser 10ml then the COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Foam Cleanser – 150ml
  • Holika Holika Egg Skin Peeling Gel – 140ml (scrub equivalent)

What new products are you introducing to your routine?
Do you wait x amount of time to introduce new products?

You have only used the Hippie one week. It is not enough time to decide: “”yes, this IS THE vitC I want to commit to for the WHOLE YEAR DAILY!””

Just wait a bit longer….you will know then. And as I said, sales ALWAYS come so often it is not even questionable

I would not buy any more of it, till it is entirely finished. And I would now for sure if I wanted it again!

The one….hard to pick when we want to try it all! Even finding one thing I like (like Kosmea Radiance serum), I have heaps more of the other face oils to use, before I can compare with the only one I actually used up till the end …so not purchasing it at all, until all of my oil stock is gone, and I have an idea which one suits me the best!….it will take time lol

So, do not rush if you ask me….

oh, i just checked, the price is now $36.49, as normally is whenever I check (as apparently original price is 45). Look, if this is the ONLY vit C you have in stock, and will last you 2-3 months, than you will be stocked for the whole year. What if you find another Vit C you want to try? So no shopping until one year is up, as isolated vitamin formulas are not to last very long….so you need to use it daily all year long! Are you up to it?

Yohanna you asked me for Mad Hippie Vit C feedback … Here it is.

I noticed the radiance in my face yest & this morn. It works quite well! Skin brighter. Yay!

I love the natural based formula and the pretty bottle lol

Will be on my list…as I get all of my stuff perish! Such a nice formula! And great name….suits my lifestyle too lol

Will do pics of the ingredients tomorrow!

Yes, nowadays I use face oils before moisturizer, as I massage my face with Foreo after the oil application (before this I let the serum to get all dry on the skin and well absorbed…then oil….then vibrator …then cream)…turning the face into super silky, soft base (so glowy!) for any awesome moisturizer. PLus oil gets so well absorbed with all that mushing my face with the vibrator =D

    This:

    • 1 x super A+ serum 15ml
    • 1 x super B complex 15ml
    • 1 x super C serum 15ml
    • 1 x radiance serum 15ml
    • 1 x ultimate hydration 30ml
    • 1 x anti-ageing night cream 30ml

So I would have to avoid: extra BHAs and AHAs…like JP serum for example

I would add only some facial oil to this and my MO oil cleanser. Plus SkinPhysics neck cream and eye serum…wow…complicated! ASAP Vit A only 2 times per week (1%), maybe vitC every other day (as it looks high at 20%? don`t know…never used something like these stuffs)

Yohanna when are you starting on ASAP?!

    • 7 yrs, 6 mths ago

      asap, I told you =P

Will consult with you how to combine stuff all together….things are getting too complicated…not sure how my face is going to handle it all!

In couple of days I am ending my Kosmea serum/oil and some old cream I wanted to finish. Still using NI serum, so will have to stop if I`m going to start with ASAP.

Will get tomorrow from BH Neck cream and Eye serum, and will `have` incorporate that into my routine (never used neck stuff, or eye serums! can not wait to try that). What do you think: should I use JP dark spot eraser again…as if I use ASAP, I will have to delay this JP serum? So hard to decide…I know how JP will work on me, and so excited to open that Platinum I got eons ago…oh…first world problems!!!

I only put it under the eye, I could feel it burning my skin, I`m a sensitive soul (sometimes), it might work for you though, I`d still recommend if you wanted to give it a go.

I broke my rule yesterday and tried 2 face products in one day (different categories though; one as a mask (washed off) and Serum)

To test the Vitamin C effectiveness, i am going to not try any new products that offer similar benefits to Vit C for the next 2 weeks which makes it 25 September.

    Today, one new sunscreen.

I am running out of my Jurlique moisturiser. Have decided to start Babo Botanicals, Miracle Moisturizing Cream, Oatmilk Calendula from my stash. Another that i may have to decant 🙁

Yohanna said previously aloe is drying and bad… which i haven’t experienced. Aloe is the 2nd ingredient and it contains Shea butter (4th ingredient) i like but also certified organic virgin coconut oil (3rd ingredient) which i am concerned due to Coconut comedogenic rating of 4.

    • 7 yrs, 6 mths ago

lol….not exactly bad…the aloe! On its own it is astringent, it pulls my skin so tight that feels so very dry and itchy (I have aloe plant at home). And I told you what happened with a burn injury with my sis!

But if that cream has after aloe (sometimes aloe is listed as an extract, so it is not bad at all) shea butter! Niiiiice…that could make really good formula, and counteract astringent pulling and `sucking out` effect of aloe…
