What does your skincare regime look like?

Hi lovelies!

I hope you’re all well.

I was hoping to get an insight on what your current skincare routine is at the moment?

Do you prefer natural and organic? Are you a cleanse-tone-exfoliate type of gal?

Or, are you blessed with perfect skin and don’t need to use anything!(lucky you!)

My personal current beauty routine is;

  1. Remove make-up with my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This product is heaven! The gunk and make-up just wipe straight off leaving my skin feeling refreshed and cool.

  1. Cleanse my skin with the Vanessa Megan Clementine Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser is particularly perfect for people who have oily/combination skin types, as it helps to control the excess sebum and oil! I love that it’s all natural as well.

  1. Exfoliate my skin 3-4 times a week with the St.Ives Green Tea Scrub. I have been a long-time lover of the St.Ives range, simply because their exfoliators are not harsh on my skin, and always leaves a glowing and smooth finish!

  2. Moisturise my skin with the La Mer Crème de la Mer morning and night. Straight after my shower’s I apply dots to each section of my face and blend in. You only need a little bit of this as a little goes a long way!

  3. Serum/oil every night just before bed with Vanessa Megan N.E.O Nature’s Elixir Face Oil. This is my holy grail beauty product. I cannot live without it! Just before bed I use two pumps on my face, patting down softly and gently, as well as focusing on my neck area too. My skin honestly has never felt more hydrated and glowing!

My skin really does suffer when I do not take care of it properly. So, I love to stick to a routine for a couple of months, then I will change it up, depending on the season.

Sometimes though, I don’t always stick to this regime (especially after a late night!)
so I will just either use some make-up wipes or the Micellar Water with some make-up pads!

So let me know beauties, what do you love to use on your skin??

xxx
Vanessa

I live in the UK and I use Monsia Skincare. My routine is very simple.

    AM
Apply daily facial cleanser gently rub into face and neck and very gently wipe off with a tissue.
Apply daily protection toner lotion to cotton wool and gently wipe face and neck
Apply Vit E oil to face & neck then the intense moisturizing day cream gently around eyes and rest of face and neck. This goes into the skin and is not greasy.

    PM
Apply daily facial cleanser gently rub into face and neck and very gently wipe off with a tissue.
Apply daily protection toner lotion to cotton wool and gently wipe face and neck
Apply Vit E oil to face & neck and then the intense night repair cream liberally on face and neck. This goes into the skin and is not greasy.

I used to use a combination of products, Avon cleanser and toner, Simple moisturizer and Nivea Q10 night cream. I changed after a friend of mine let me use some of her Monsia day cream. Now I understand what she meant by sticking to one product line.

    MORNING ROUTINE

Cleanser – Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser

Toner – Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Toner

Serum – Paula’s choice Resist skin brightening treatment + 4 drops of Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Super Booster (I’ve noticed a massive improvement in my skin tone after I started incorporating these two in my morning routine. It has helped even out any hyperpigmentation and the skin brightening treatment makes your skin glow a little too )

Day time moisturiser – Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Ultra-Sheer Daily SPF 15 (it’s a matte finish and doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything heavy at all. It also has no white cast finish)

During the day — especially in winter — I spray a couple of spritz of rose water to keep my skin a bit hydrated.

    NIGHTTIME ROUTINE

Cleanser and Toner and serum – same as above

AHA and BHA treatment – alternating nightly before the serum step and straight after toner
AHA –Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment 5% AHA ———BHA – Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid

Night time moisturiser – Skin Balancing Moisture Gel + 2 drops of jojoba oil if I feel that my skin is dehydrated that day.

Spot treatment on hyperpigmentation areas (past acne outbreaks) – Paula’s Choice Resist 25% Vitamin C Spot Treatment — this product has significantly reduced the dark pigmentation. I usually just dab it on the spots at the end of my routine…. To see proper results they say to do it every night. But I’m pretty bad when it comes to applying this product regularly. Even so, I’ve seen significant improvement with infrequent application.

Once a week instead of a night time moisturiser I use the Resist Retinol Serum

MAKEUP REMOVER — I use the garnier micellar water and Maybelline waterproof makeup remover for stubborn eye makeup and then do a final cleanse with my normal cleanser

My routine involves products mainly from the paula’s choice range as you can see lol. But they seem to work really well on my skin and the prices are reasonable for the amount of product you get and ingredients involved. I discovered this brand 2 years ago and started off with just their cleanser, toner, BHA and moisturiser but soon tried other products and got converted!

Lankan Princess, what was the condition of your skin before this routine and what skin type do you have currently?

I’ve been wanting to try Paula’s choice

I use a damp micro cloth at night to remove all my makeup including mascara.

I then tone with Pacifica’s Purify Coconut Face Wipes.

Jurlique’s Face Firming Oil and Nuxe Reve de Miel Night Cream.

First thing in the morning I use the coconut face wipes to freshen my face and Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse Enrichie Anti Fatigue Cream Dry skin.

I have barely any wrinkles and I am 49 years old. Keep it simple is my motto.

    At the moment
    1. I remove any makeup with any wipes as long as it is alcohol free as I am lucky that all wipes suits me . At the moment , its the Select Non-scent brand
    2. Use St Ives Green tea scrub 1-2 weekly before washing with Neutrogena liquid toner for sensitive skin
3 I use Rimmel BB cream SPF 15 during the day and Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle cream during the evenings

    Morning

    1. I wash my face with Cetaphil. I’ve realized other cleansers, no matter how gentle they claim to be, leave my skin feeling quite stripped off. This results in my skin trying to produce oil to compensate for the dryness.
    2. If I wore makeup the day before, I use Bioderma to take off any residue.
    3. I apply a good layer of La Mav Organics Hyaluronic Acid serum and an eye cream (currently using one from Algenist)
    4. Apply sunscreen.

    Nighttime

    1. Cleanse with Kate Somerville’s Gentle facial wash

    2. Follow up with a Glycolic Acid Toner from Mario Badescu

    3. Apply my eye serum from Perricone MD, followed up with my Kiehl’s midnight recovery eye cream
    4. Apply a serum – Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and Perricone MD High Potency Evening Repair.
    5. Apply moisturiser. Currently loving Skyn ICELAND’s Pure Cloud Cream. My skin has looked and felt so smooth, plump and hydrated

*now and then, if my skin is looking a little tired and dull and bumpy, I use a Glycolic Acid Lotion from Paula’s Choice to exfoliate. I prefer chemical exfoliators over physical.

*once a week, I use the Glamglow Power Dual cleanser to deep clean my pores.

*a couple of times a week I use the Glamglow Thirsty Mud Mask. My skin loves this! It drinks it up hydrates my skin really well.

*I also use the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or Glamglow Supermud mask when my skin is starting to look a bit congested

So everyday in the morning I will:
    – apply vaseline to my lips
    – apply the blemish treatment by epoch to my acne

    In the afternoon I will:
    – wash my face with Garnier’s 3 in 1
    – apply bio oil to my face
    – use medical acne products on acne

    Before I sleep:
    – apply oil to my entire face ( makes it easier for me in the morning)
    – apply vaseline on and around my lips

    Every week:
    – mask with Garnier’s 3 in 1
    – scrub with Garnier’s 3 in 1

I was blessed with possibly the clearest skin in my small family, so I was so lazy at anything skincare-related until my parents started grilling me and telling me to take care of my skin since I’m young lol.

I only put on sunscreen and moisturiser/day cream in the morning, no cleansing or anything (which I probably should do).

I clean my makeup the moment I get home with micellar water, so at night I only cleanse my face with whatever facial wash I have at the moment (since my favourite got discontinued, ugh x/ ) and apply night cream.

I’m looking to add serum or oil in the regime, but we’ll see if I can get a decent yet affordable one…
