What are some of your favourite cream cleansers?

Hey guys! I’ve nearly finished my cetaphil gentle cleanser and I’m looking for a better and more hydrating cleanser. I feel like cetaphil just doesn’t do much for me so I want to try cream cleansers. I have dry/eczema prone and acne prone skin which sucks.
Feel free to list your favourite cream cleansers and also your skin type!
Hopefully this thread will help other users also looking for a great cream cleanser.
Thanks! 🙂

    Would like to recommend
Triokogy agage proof active enzyme cleansing cream. This is one of my fav cleansers ever. It’s cream but removes everything.

I have recently started using Mario Badescu skin care products, and touch wood, they doing very good, as for cream cleanser I am using the keratoplast cream cleanser and it is only $14 from Mecca maxima http://mecca.com.au/mario-badescu/keratoplast-cream-soap/I-011763.html#start=1 here is the link for anyone interested.
It doesn’t feel thick or too creamy. Comes out of the bottle like you have just whipped fluffy meringue… Mmm meringue yum 🙂
I have combination skin and I was a little worried about trying a “cream” cleaner but so far it is great.
Doesn’t leave me oily, it actually gets rid of all the oil and leaves my skin clear and smooth. It’s also great for sensitive and red prone skin it’s perfect.
Leaves your skin so smooth i had to resist touching my face so much lol.
So if you want an overall good cream cleanser for all skin types, not just mine, it is very good

Philosophy Purity Made Simple is a gorgeous, gentle cream cleanser. And it smells a bit like lemon cake!

I was just about to recommend this one. It’s a gorgeous product.

Formula 10.0.6 dream clean cream cleanser (i believe its the green one) is really great. It makes my skin feel nice, smooth and really clean

  • I’m not a big fan of cream cleanser and looking for a cleanser that dosent strip off the natural oil.?Has anyone tried ‘cleansing grains’ ? They are a powder mix of clays and herbs and meant to be really good… You just mix a bit of it with some water and apply to wet face and wash it off…

Anita, do you mean products like Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant, which is a powder, mixed with water, that turns into an exfoliating cleanser?

If so, they’re a fabulous product, but in general you would need to use a regular cleanser beforehand – they’re not designed to remove makeup, they’re designed to buff & gently exfoliate away dead skin & keep a nice glow to your complexion.

  • I have dry and mature skin, so some of my favourite cleansers (with a minimum of chemicals) listed below could be too heavy for your acne-prone skin. If your skin is really dry, look at ingredients to check that there are no surfactants that create a lather (I know that most people love foaming cleansers). Surfactants dry my skin out or create a subtle sensitivity. They usually have names such as sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate etc.

La Mav Hydra-Calm Cleansing Crème is my current cleanser. It has such a light consistency that it’s almost like a mousse. To make this cleanser more affordable in the long-term, you could use something else to remove most of your makeup then use the La Mav cleanser as your second and more effective cleanser.

Botáni Olive Soothing Cleanser. This is lovely but if you wear full makeup each day, you will probably go through it quickly due to the small bottle. For that reason, it makes it more expensive for long-term use.

Sukin Sensitive Cleansing Lotion. This has a similar consistency to Botáni Olive Soothing Cleanser but it is just as effective and more affordable.

Trilogy Sensitive Very Gentle Cream Cleanser and Trilogy Cream Cleanser. I prefer the sensitive version as my face doesn’t always like essential oils. The consistency of these cleansers are not quite as heavy as the following one from A’kin.

A’kin Rose and Geranium Pure Creamy Cleanser & Tone. This has the heaviest consistency. Although the title suggests that it contains a toner, I feel it is pointless including it in a cleanser. Many creamy cleansers (especially heavier ones) leave a subtle residue on my face, so I always use a natural non-alcohol toner after all cleansers to remove traces of cleanser, dirt and makeup.

I’ve bought samples of a few Eminence Organics creamy cleansers and they were all lovely. Due to their higher cost, I would recommend them as your second cleanse.

Thanks Petal for your wonderful , detailed list. I’m considering using a cream cleanser over winter this year and will keep in mind your suggestions, they sound great for my skin type

I use Olay Total Effects Cleanser for blemish prone skin. It’s the only cleanser I use. I have dry skin, so applying moisturiser afterwards is a must 🙂

(Normal to dry skin)I’ve used Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser for years…I find it to be the best for really getting off all my makeup and a deep cleanse. Also love the Avon clearskin blackhead remover scrub,as it clears any spots up and removes dry skin.Virgin olive oil is what I use to take my eye makeup off with.
