Has anyone tried the Sukin Organics skincare range? I’m after a new moisturiser which is fairly light, and their facial moisturiser sounds really nice. Can anyone compare it to Natural Instinct? I tried the moisturiser at Priceline and found the smell way too strong.

The website is www.sukinorganics.com.au
Thanks =)

I bought the Foaming Facial Cleanser yesterday, I love it! I’ve only used it last night and this morning but even so, my skin feels really clean (but not tight) and smooth. It also smells amazing, like jaffa? I guess that’s the citrus oils. I’m going to get the moisturiser soon. I haven’t tried it, but I’ve tried the Natural Instinct one, a friend gave it to me to use but I found it way too rich for my combination skin.

Thanks for the reply amy =) I tried the Natural Instinct moisturiser at Priceline too but just on my hands, and I couldn’t stand the smell. It was lavender but really strong =/ I read a review on the Sukin moisturiser and apparently it’s pretty light =) I’ve been trying to use up all my skincare products so I can go out and buy a bunch of new stuff, was thinking of switching to QV facial cleanser but maybe I should try the Sukin one if you think it’s really good? Definitely going to get the moisturiser though I think. Did you just get it from the chemist?

That’s ok :) Yeah the NI moisturiser is pretty heavy, a friend gave it to me to try for a few days and I only used it twice. I’m going to get the Sukin Moisturiser today if I can. I can’t find anywhere on the website that lists their stockists… hmm.
I bought the cleanser at a local health food shop that sells heaps of organic skincare, vitamins and everything. I seriously love it, it took a bit of getting used to as it is kind of a clear gel that only foams a little bit. But I found it does clean really well. I might get the facial scrub as well… I’ve been using Clinique products since I started high school but these are cheaper, organic and they smell good so I’m going to switch over!

I’ve used the body wash in both brands and liked them both. They’re quite similar in cost as well however I’ve found Sukin isn’t sold in many places, only in select chemists. I recently purchased the Natural Instinct foaming cleanser from Priceline for $9.95 which has a lovely lavender scent.

I bought the Sukin foaming cleanser today and I love it too! Made my skin feel clean, and you’re right amy it does smell like jaffa =) I might get the moisturiser when my current one runs out. Would be good if it was sold at Priceline but I just got it from a health food shop =)

Some of the A’kin products look really nice too, have you tried the cleanser and toner in one jennrach? I was thinking of buying the unscented hand cream, it’s about $15 which I thought was a pretty decent price =)

Time to revive this thread =)

Ok I decided to be adventurous today and stopped in a pharmacy I’ve never been in before (There’s about 10 down the road where I live) as I’m just dying for some rich face moisturiser. To my surprise they stocked Sukin!! Yay!! It’s odd but sooooo good as it’s so close to home.

From rec by Elmo, I purchased the aloe vera gel $10 for 125mL- very happy since Thursday Plantation is 30mL for about $3.50. Yet to try it.

Also got the Moisture Restoring Night Cream that I’m just using as a day cream as well as it’s quite light for a night cream, and absorbs incredibly fast. Not as rich as I would like it, but since it’s relieved the tightness I’ll give it a chance. For $20 120mL- good bargain. Also doesn’t smell very fragrant like the Kosmea Moisture Replenishing Cream- the smell drove me a bit insane.

Overall, very very happy =)

I have tried the moisturiser and the shampoo and conditioner. I found the moisturiser to be very light so I think it’s great for summer but I need somthing a little richer for winter. give it a try, it smells fantastic. The shampoo is amazing, I have short hair and a little goes a long way.

Yay Eidolon! You’ve reminded me – I want to stop in my chemist on my way home today and get the body wash for my next shower gel!

Oh the body wash sounds good but my moogoo just came in today. Happy shopping Elmo =)

I’m using the night cream for the day so it’s good for winter. The consistency of it resembles a balm more than a cream, and I think it’ll go very well with my rosehip oil/aloe vera.

I have been using the Sukin bodywash for awhile now….i really love it, its a nice warm kind of smell…almost like u have been baking orange poppyseed muffins…its not overpowering or overly sweet, just a really nice humble invigorating body wash.

I will have to try the body wash when my current one runs out!! I am using the hand wash, hand cream and body lotion from the sukin range. I like the hand wash and body lotion – working well on me but the hand cream unfortunately isn’t rich enough for my hands.

Wow brisblonde, I love your description. I got a really romantic scene in my head with jaffas now aha

Well this is day 2 of the night cream and I like it. Not as rich as I want it, but I think my scaly-ness on my cheeks has actually improved slightly.

Has anyone tried the toner? I have problems in my T-zone but dry everywhere else, so will the toner be able to do something for both?

Eidolon I just looked at the toner – and it’s says it’s a hydrating formula – so I would say only spray on your dry areas – as your oily areas probably don’t need it?

yes I’m a bit sceptical when they say hydrating as they claimed their night cream to be moisturising but it disappears into the skin extremely fast without it feeling incredibly hydrated.

That’s interesting – as the MooGoo anti-ageing cream I used did the exact same thing – though they did say in the instructions that it is supposed to happen. Maybe something to do with natural/organic moisturisers doing that? Maybe they just don’t have an ingredient that makes it feel smooth on the skin? Is it leaving your skin dry?

well my dryness is still there and i find it doesnt help protect it from wind etc. I’m using my QV cream now as it helps prevent wind burn. I’m not using the sukin night cream for my body and my face when i stay home. the scalyness is still there though =(

Also, how does your aloe vera smell? Mine smells slightly like nail polish remover for some reason, but I’m not sure if that’s what it’s meant to smell like. It hasn’t reacted with my skin or anything like that though.

Yep mine smells slightly medicinal too – that’s because it’s pure aloe vera gel – a lot of the more common brands are full of fragrance and additivies which is why they’re green and smell differently.

Oh ok that’s good. You mentioned somewhere that it was medicinal but I had no idea what that meant as I would classify it as an acetone/alcohol smell aha.

Thanks for that though as I was worried as I’m not sure how long the product has actually sat in the pharmacy, and the lifetime is a bit vague as there is no proper seal on the product.

Keen to try other products now as the night cream has made a superb body moisturiser. Smell like a jaffa walking around- brilliant!!

That’s ok – Jaimee-Lee actually told me what to expect with a more natural version – so it didn’t freak me out! I love my sukin one – I’ll keep buying this over and over again.

Might try and go to the chemist tonight to get some shower gel and maybe more!

I am a bit wary of organics with too much fragrance – it feels like you are slathering your face in essential oils and that can really make my eczema flare, especially around my eyes. Horrid!! I found a pretty little brand in a boutique in SA. Lily loves Pearl Organic Skincare. I am using the Hydrating Facial Recovery Serum. Reminds me a little of the Jurlique Recovery Gel – except it’s cheaper!! It’s an Aussie brand – from the Victorian Springs. Anyone else tried it?
