Sukin: Foaming Facial Cleanser vs Oil Balancing Plus Charcoal Purifying Gel Cleanser

I love Sukin, they make great cruelty-free products. I’ve been using the Sukin foaming facial cleanser as a daily cleanser for about two years now and only recently discovered that they have created a cleanser for oily/combination skin types. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone, so oil/shine control is always something that interests me when it comes to skincare products. I’ve checked out the reviews on BH for the oil balancing cleanser and it has a 5 star rating. I am keen to try it, but just curious if anyone else has tried both cleansers before? & if so what do you think of them? Is it worth trying out the oil balancing cleanser? & if you have used each product did you notice a difference when using the oil balancing cleanser? Thanks 🙂

Thanks Sparkles 🙂 I think I’m just going to go ahead and pick it up and try it. I really do love Sukin products. Just wanted to get some feedback before I made the purchase. But yeah you’re right everything in their range is a pretty reasonable price so it shouldn’t be an issue if I don’t like it as much as the regular cleanser.

Side note, I will probably post my feedback in here later on just in case anyone is interested in comparing the two cleansers.

I have tried both and the Sukin foaming cleanser and just recently the Charcoal.
I was happy with the results but my skin is more dehydrated with Hormonal breakouts rather than oily T-zone. I wasn’t sure if this would dry my skin too much but I have found it works well.

At the moment I am really loving the Charcoal so I would say to give it a shot, as for a preference I really can’t decide. I do feel my skin is looking great at the moment but I am also using other things that may be contributing to this. I have also tried the Biore Charcoal and they both work well.
I do prefer the fragrance of the Biore one but that’s not a huge issue.

I guess the good thing about Sukin is it’s so reasonably priced that if you don’t like it you haven’t spent a huge amount of money.

    Thank you for understanding;)

No untruthful comments were made about you behind your back. I directly asked you not to post misleading information as it is pointless and helps no-one.

If you have sensitive skin it is probably best not to use a cleanser that is meant for an oily skin type, especially one that contains charcoal in the formula. You are much better off using a cleanser that is for sensitive skin. The Sukin Sensitive Cleansing Gel is a product that is probably better for your skin rather than the regular Sukin cleanser or the Sukin oil balancing cleanser.

You can find reviews of the Sukin Sensitive Cleansing Gel here:

    Hope this helps you 🙂

I do understand that giving false and misleading information on Beauty Heaven is a very disloyal thing to do and i can assure you that, that is not what i intended to do. I started the forum about suggestions of a good cleanser after my bad experience with the Sukin Charcoal Gel Cleanser and then decided to go with the one my sister had that i tired, that was the Sukin Foaming Cleanser. I am sorry if my frame of time isn’t the same as yours, maybe i should’ve worded my response differently, but i would really appreciate if others would stop making untruthful comments about me behind my back. I appologize if i have offended anyone, but i really don’t condem this sort of unnecessary behaviour. I can assure you that i meant no harm in my comments i posted and that i was an completely honest, loyal member of Beauty Heaven.com, thanks;)

    Hi Directioner Forever,

while I appreciate your response I’d just like to remind you that Beauty Heaven does rely on honesty from our members and it is quite frowned upon to give misleading information as this is essentially a beauty product reviewing website.

I just saw your response today on the 25th of July in this thread:

    http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/skincare/best-cleanser-for-sensitive-skin

that you posted last week on the 12th of July – asking about cleansers for sensitive skin.

Last week you asked for recommendations for a cleanser for sensitive skin and today you posted in that thread saying:

“Thanks for all the suggestions guys!! Really appreciated! I have decided to go with the Sukin range, as i tried some of my sisters cleanser and really loved it!! xo”

In this thread that I posted today asking if anyone has tried both cleansers and what are their thoughts on them, you said:

“I have been using the Sukin Foaming Cleanser for so long now and i am still loving it from the day i got it.”

I am unsure if you have been using your sisters cleanser for a week or if you have actually been using the product for a long time as you said in this post. I am also unsure if you have tried both of the cleansers I was asking about, but either way please do not give false or misleading information on this site as it is pointless and really does not benefit anyone here. Thanks.

I haven`t been following this Modern Gypsy but I applaud you on pointing this out to a new member.

It shows that posts DO get read – so do not post misleading or contradictory information on here.

We are lovers of beauty and beauty related products (as well as totally unrelated topics!) and I am constantly amazed at the depth of knowledge from members on here (scientific based too) – as well as recommendations and warnings of products from personal experience.

There are many members monitoring the forums!

Thanks Kassalee, I just think it`s really unfair to give misleading information on a product. Especially when other members work hard to contribute their reviews and comments. And also because someone else might search this topic later on and be put off from giving the product a go based on information that`s not valid. Seems silly to me.

But yeah if anyone has tried each of these, please do let me know 🙂

I have been using the Sukin Foaming Cleanser for so long now and i am still loving it from the day i got it. From what you have described, it sounds like i have very similar skin to you and suffer from the same issues, so i would like to warn you that i wouldn’t recommend buying any of the charcoal Sukin range as i have had very bad experiences with using those products. I find that it makes my skin very irritated and dry, possibly being to harsh for my skin. As this has happened to me, i would really prefer if others, like yourself, took the precaution of not using these products.

Another cleaner i really enjoyed before using my holy grail Sukin one, is the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I started use this from a really young age, so it definitely wasn’t to harsh on my skin. I works really well with oily/combination skin types, like yourself.

    Hope this information helps xo
