Skincare Favourites?

Hey beauties!

So, I’m planning to change my skincare routine a little right now. At the moment, I am using Trilogy Mist Toner and the Rosehip Antioxidant+, St Ives Apricot exfoliator and Avene Thermal Water. They’re all really good, but sometimes I feel that there are WAY better products out there, you know?

So, from your experience/s, what is/are the best face mists/toners, day moisturisers, exfoliators and oils? I prefer Rosehip, but recommend your best and favourites. Any other skincare favourites are also appreciated!

Thank you so much to everyone in advance! =)

BeautyAholica, I forgot to mention something about natural creamy cleansers. I feel that they may leave a subtle residue on the skin. For this reason, I always use a natural and alcohol-free toner afterwards to remove any residue of cleanser, dirt, makeup etc. I suspect not using a toner is why so many people say that it doesn’t feel like their face is clean after using a creamy cleanser. I hope this makes sense!

BeautyAholica, it would be really helpful if you could let us know your age and type of skin so that people can be more specific with recommendations. Do you prefer a foaming cleanser or a creamy cleanser? I have dry and mature skin, so what I would suggest may not suit you.

I don’t think that you can go wrong with any Trilogy facial product. They make excellent natural products. Seeing as budget is a concern, it is best to wait until Priceline has their 40% off skincare sale and buy Trilogy products then.

I like A’kin skincare and they include lovely natural ingredients in their products. This is another brand that’s worth buying during a Priceline sale.

I recommend Sukin as a quality budget brand using natural ingredients. What Sukin products did you use that caused your skin to break out? I think that it could be premature to give up on Sukin based on a negative experience with two products. It is possible that they have other products that could be suitable.

One brand that I suspect doesn’t get enough recognition is Natio. I wouldn’t call them a completely natural brand, but they include lovely natural ingredients in their products. For my personal tastes, I prefer Trilogy, but I have given a few Natio products as presents.

I’m late to the party, but I’d like to give a few of my own recommendations:

If you’re looking for an alternative to rosehip oil, then I personally recommend The Jojoba Company’s 100% Australian Jojoba Oil. I prefer this over rosehip because it spreads better & it doesn’t break me out too much. They do have a jojoba & rosehip blend if you want to dip your toes into the brand – I have used it (going to have to get back into it since I have about half a bottle left), but I prefer the normal jojoba oil. I’ve got sensitive skin and have found it doesn’t irritate me at all.

Face mists…both of my favourites have been discontinued sadly. I was using Springfield’s Rose Hydrosol up until recently and loved it. I’m annoyed that the company’s stopped making it because it was really nice & had a lovely smell. I’m using the Antioxidant Facial Mist from The Jojoba Company atm, but I loathe the smell of it & I don’t find it all that hydrating either. I did use an A’kin rosewater one in the past, but then they stopped making that too. :o(

Exfoliators – I’m currently using Alpha H’s Gentle Daily Exfoliant, which is mostly natural from what I can gather. It is gentle, but if you’ve come from using manual exfoliants you might find it’s a bit too gentle at first. It’s pretty good, but I’m unsure if I’ll re-purchase it once it’s finished.

Day moisturiser – Trilogy do a really nice moisturiser for sensitive skin…it’s under the Very Gentle range. Depending on what the rest of your skin is like, you might find it a bit too heavy to use in the warmer months (I know I do – mine’s combination as well as sensitive + it can be dehydrated too).

Linda, I’ve purchased the rosehip by Essano but haven’t tried it yet. Still finishing up Thursday Plantation Rosehip Oil. Next up is Swisse Rosehip Oil. Then RosehipPlus which I got in beautorium.

AND THEN Essano. Haha. I stocked up on rosehip oil!

I picked up Essano before Christmas at priceline. It was $25 for a 4 piece set. It’s reduced further and is now $17.

    Here’s a link for anyone who’s interest -https://www.priceline.com.au/essano-summer-skin-perfector-pack-4-pack.

It includes quote “Cosmetic Bag, Gentle Facial Exfoliator 100mL, Regenerating Facial Moisturiser 140mL & Rosehip Oil 20mL”.

It says 140 ml on the website but it’s actually 75 ml which is still great. A great gift set to try out Essano products.

If you’re after a cruelty free Australian brand that does great skincare at an affordable price, I’d suggest you checkout Innoxa.

I’ve used a number of their products over the years & found them all to be really suitable for my skin & effective. And their makeup is great too.

I’ve recently being using an Organic eye cream from them that was very good, and I’m currently using their anti-ageing exfoliator which is a great product & for the past year I’ve been using their fabulous deodorants.

They often have really decent GWP deals at Myers, chemists or Priceline too. so you can try new products for free, they always have full size products in them

I’m yet to try Rosehip by Essano, but out of 1 & 2, my big thumbs up is to Trilogy.

Every product I’ve tried from them has done wonders for my skin, is affordable, and all lovely & natural too. I’m yet to find a RHO that works better for my skin than Trilogy’s Antioxidant+ one. They make great body products, hand creams and so on too.

If you’re on a tighter budget, Palmer’s do make quality products. I’ve tried a number of their skincare range & they’re decent, but I do prefer Palmer’s for body products rather than my skincare

Thank you so much beauties!I really appreciate all your responses and recommendations! Okay, so after intense research I got my three choices down, and I would like to know— from experience— which is YOUR favourite/the best and why? What were the results, how did it feel, etc. I plan on going to Priceline soon to buy the one of the products listed. Here are the contestants:

    1. Trilogy
    2. Palmers
    3. Rosehip by essano

Thank you to everyone in advance!

I’ll stick to Monsia Skincare but I’m using Vit E oil on the backs of my hands, rubbed on my eyebrows and applied to my face and neck after my night repair cream is working well.
