You should not use any products that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or any of the retinoids. They are not safe to use during pregnancy.

    Congratulations!! 🙂

I’m actually having the same problem trying to work out what products I can use (currently 25 weeks pregnant) and my skin (face and body) has gone completely nuts 🙁 🙁 I’m considering going back to the basic three step Clean and Clear products that I used as a teen haha.

Congratulations! I’m 39 weeks pregnant and have mostly used the same products from before I was pregnant. For a body wash I just use a cheapie from Chemist Warehouse brand name Enya which is $4 for 1L and works great. As a body moisturiser I use a no name lanolin cream from Big W. I’d start applying a stretch mark cream as soon as possible I personally use Palmers massage cream for stretch marks. For a facial cleanser I switch between St Ives apricot scrub and Sukin. Facial moisturiser I use the Sukin facial moisturiser and at night apply a rosehip oil. The rosehip oil should help with the oily skin and throughout your pregnancy your skin will start to balance itself once your body gets used to the crazy hormones.

Michelle240 your spot on, my skin has been a bit more oily the past few days, lots of my skin care products have salicylic acid in them so I want to steer clear for the time being… ive heard good things about burts bees so I might give them a go… 🙂

Seezora ive been feeling the same way… and VERY tired… like all the time haha

I would suggest Jojoba Oil as it is almost identical organically-speaking to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by your skin. It is a great natural moisturizer which can also help with acne, it penetrates into the skin without clogging pores and is suitable for all skin types it contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin.

Studies on jojoba oil show that it has the ability to prevent skin from becoming too oily. This is due to the fact that putting jojoba oil on our skin can trick our cells into thinking they have produced enough oil.

Thanks Stephanie 😀 Hope all goes well for you. I’ve been constantly sick but at least there’s an end date!

Hehehe Tiasha – nope, my skin didn’t hear people say that pregnancy is supposed to improve your skin. It appears to be rather rebellious and as hormones keep changing, I have to keep changing my cleansing products, but thankfully it doesn’t happen to every pregnant lady ;D

Congratulations Stephanie! Skin does not always “glow” during pregnancy! Just try to use products that are more natural based. You skin could become more oily than usual and your skin care would have to change accordingly. Even lots of your favourite scented products may not smell the same! I used mostly fragrance free products or natural essentialoil based scented beauty products while pregnant. Gaia for women, the Burts bees, Sukin, trilogy range etc.

You will probably find that your skin may improve because you are pregnant.
