Retinol: Does more expensive = better?
Oh, wise beauties of BH, lend me your wisdom! When it comes to retinol, is one product just as good as the other or is it worth the splurge on a high-priced product for better results?
I’ve recently been made aware that I should be using a retinol product, so I’ve been using a serum that is actually quite nice, organic and a bargain at under $18 (15ml). But searching for other retinol products, they CAN be very expensive. That’s fine – my skincare products are my luxury item and I’m happy to spend up big, but only if the result justifies the price.
So since I’ve recently moved to the boonies and away from a Mecca, I’ve called and chatted with them about the Sunday Riley facial oils that contain retinol – Luna and Juno. They’ve very kindly offered to send me samples to try (thanks, Mecca!), but what I really want to know is – Is retinol retinol or is the $120+ price difference going to bag me a better result?
Surely one of you has asked the same question at some stage and got the inside info, right? Are we just paying for a big name and pretty packaging or are retinol products vastly different from one another?
