Looking for a zinc face sunscreen for oily skin??

I’ve totally finished up my fav sunscreen and because it’s quite expensive I can’t afford it right now so want something from priceline/pharmacy or supermarket today.

Zinc based
Oily or combo skin
Spotty skin/Congested skin

Anything you have tried??

I am looking at this physical sunscreen.
    I hate sunscreens normally 🙁
The smell of them and the way they feel on my face is horrid, plus the chemical ones all seem to break me out. I have even noticed in skin care that has chemical sunscreen i end up breaking out. I feel like i need to keep wiping my face or something.

My body copes with chemical sunscreen though.

    Has anyone tried it?

Just wanted to update this topic. I have nearly used up my whole moogoo cover up buttercup. It’s really good, probably a little too drying so I need to make sure I moisturise really well before applying. My skin has changed and it’s combination normal/dry at the moment.

Would anyone know why the cover up buttercup is $34.90 online and $31.50 in the go vita store?

I believe that the Moogoo sites sells their products at RRP where as GoVita can negotiate discounts and pass that onto their customers. My local discount health food store is a Go Vita and nearly everything is 20% off everyday. Also, I remember TOM tampons came out and said a similar thing about why they’re cheaper at the supermarket vs buying online.

Thanks that makes sense! Best to shop at go vita then 🙂

Not all Go Vita are that cheap, one near me sells only at RRP, it definitely pays to shop around as I think most are franchises! I think Terry White Chemists sell Moogoo cheapest but don’t sell the whole range unfortunately.

But if anyone lives around north Sydney, Mr Vitamins (a branch of Go Vita) are the cheapest health food store ive come across. I’m so lucky to live so close.

MOOGOO have 2 different sunscreens. The Cover Up ButterCup which is 200ml and a version of the Anti Aging which is more normal face moisturiser size. They are both SPF 15. I would highly recommend the Anti Aging SPF 15 over the Cover up Buttercup for face use. Ive been using it and found its ever so slightly drying (maybe due to the zinc?) so definitely best for oily skin.

Thanks for the hints Tea, my sister used to use the anti aging one and found the same thing! I think she has a teeny bit left, I should try some of hers out.

So I wonder if the moogoo cover up buttercup is any good!
I’m happy with the becca one as that is only physical sun filter based (zinc and titanium dioxide) but it’s a small tube (40ml) for the price. The moogoo has 5 times as much for the same price. The moogoo ingredients are much more natural too. The becca one suits my skin type, I wonder if moogoo will.

I have heard that the Moogoo one is very good and quite light too, but alas only spf 15 (but the difference between 15 and 30 is pretty minor). The owner of my local Go Vita said that it’s one of the best he’s used. Although, I don’t know if Moogoo are making it currently as they were testing it again through facebook (might be tweaking it before summer).

But I came here to give you an update on Soleo (as I bought it the other day). It’s actually the best sunscreen ive ever used. It’s really light and feels like i’m just applying a moisturiser, even though it comes out looking thick, it spreads really easily. I havent been sun baking or anything but haven’t gotten burnt during normal daily use. The downside is cost, but the most annoying thing is the packing. The sunscreen is really hard to squeeze out of the tube (even I struggle), and also the label on the tube flakes off in small pieces. But other than that it’s perfect. I’ll try using it on my face in the next few days and let you know how I go 🙂

That’s good! I look forward to trying the moogoo. Annoying abut the lower SPF rating isn’t it. Maybe a higher SPF would be good for going out to the beach for a day.

That’s great the Soleo one is working for you! Let me know how it goes for facial use when you try it 🙂
