IPL skin treatment for pigmentation

I have mild pigmentation on my face and I’ve heard IPL is the way to go in getting it removed.

Has anyone here had it done that loved it?
What kind of results did you have?

I’ve reported old spam on this thread by ida683 dated 5 and 20 August 2014.

The post by gluseppina dated 3 August 2017 looks innocent because there are no links, but I think it is spam because I’ve reported heaps of spam for DermalMD in the past.

I’ve had IPL twice on my face.
It was painful when it was performed along my forehead and just uncomfortable (hot, stinging feeling) everywhere else. The worst part was the smell of burning hair when it picked up the little hairs along the face.
It felt like sunburn afterwards. In about a week the skin started to shed and the freckles flaked away. It works really well on the small darker freckles as the machine picks them up easy.
It’s worth it. I could go back to do another round but I’m happy with the outcome.

Scary to think hitting 40 maybe a reason isn’t it …
I know what you mean Pinksugar as I am a worrywart myself which does nothing for me at all .

Sorry ray_jay I was getting back, was just hoping my hand would heal quicker, scarring to try to minimize. I had my face done twice but the real stubborn, darker spots just won’t budge. They come to the surface then…nothing. I am keen to try laser next. Have also been using Paula’s Choice Resist 25% but still no change. Why is it that nothing works when it clearly states it works. Even Superfade doesn’t work.

I’ve also thought about IPL. A dermatologist I went to suggested it but it was very expensive and I was concerned about what I would look like for a few days afterwards, wouldn’t want to turn up to work after having it done. I guess if it works it would be worth it but I was under the impression it was something you needed to maintain and have done once a year for really good results.

Christ Gofton you are one brave chick.

I am on the tail end of getting a tattoo removed on my forearm via laser and apparently it’s the same type of pain…. I know it absolutely canes my arm and I’m thankful the whole process only takes a few minutes but to have that sensation all over the face would be crazy. I’m probably up to my 8th session and will probably need about 4 more.. I will be definitely happy to never feel that pain again lol.

As with any laser treatment, the results far outweigh the pain, good luck with your journey! It’ll be awesome to see the results!

A few days ago I underwent ipl for my pigmentation…it’s like an elastic band slapping the skin and feels like a burning sensation and I am going to be brutally honest that it hurt so bad for a few minutes after each skin contact and after my whole face was done I felt I had gone a round with Mohamed Ali! Had my face done and really cranked up the intensity so it would bring the pigmentation right out. When I got home I slathered on Aloe Vera Gel from in the fridge…aaaaahhhhh that’s better! Mild intensity doesn’t hurt but will not bring out the pigmentation to its best. You wouldn’t believe it drew the mild marks I had out into this. Came out that much that my cream foundation didn’t cover it…so no going anywhere for me for more days to come. Imagine this all over my face. My husband says I look like Morgan Freeman’s love child! Haha! Check it out. Can’t wait for the final result. Will post the final result.

And I’d better show you my hand…this blistered and hurt big time…there is still a blister and I hope it doesn’t bust! See how the dark spot is coming out.
