Droily Skin is a Thing!
I’ve always said I have acne prone combination skin. However, I’m starting to think that “combination” isn’t the right term. After a nasty incident with a Quick Fix Mega Moisture Gel Mask, I’ve dubbed my skin “droily”.
What is droily skin, you may ask? Well, young padawan, I will explain. My skin seems very oily on the outer layer, and it is. But when I use products that are specially formulated for oily skin, my skin throws a hissy fit and dries out. If I use anything too moisturising, my skin will be coated in oil all day and there’s nothing even a magic Genie could do for me ‘n’ my sensitive, acne prone, droily skin.
It sounds like my skin is just combination, but that would imply that I have oily & dry patches in DIFFERENT places on my face. Skin has layers, like onions & Ogres; my top layer of skin is very oily, but underneath that layer, I feel like my skin is very dry. Sometimes my skin likes to play a lil switcheroo and the bottom layer will be oily, leaving the top layer dry.
I know I sound crazy, you’re probably staring at the screen thinking what drugs is she on? What are your thoughts? Do you think droily skin could be a thing, or do you have similar issues?
