Clarisonic cleansing system

I have been umming and ahhing for over 12 months now about whether or not I get a Clarisonic. I’ve heard great things, and I’ve heard terrible things. I currently have a $250 David Jones voucher and I was considering using it to get a Clarisonic… But I really need some advice! I’m just worried that it’s just a “fad” and a waste of money.. Those of you that have one, do you use it every day? I’m a lazy person so that worries me too.

    Hi PrincessMadeleine,

Such a common dilemma figuring out which product to go for when there are SO many on the market!

I have a Clarisonic Mia 2 and I have done a Q&A about my experience using it for bh. If you want to check it out, here’s the link: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/skin-care/cleansers-washes/clarisonic-mia-2-review

I love my Clarisonic and I have really noticed a huge difference in the quality of my skin since using it – plus I was lucky enough not to go through too bad of a purging stage.

The girls in the office have been loving the Foreo and as Beth said, she’s in the middle of trialling it at the moment, so maybe wait to see what she thinks 🙂

    Good luck xx

Hi PrincessMadeleine, just thought I’d jump in here and let you know I’m currently trialling the LUNA Play, which is a smaller version of the standard size Foreo cleansing devices. It’s great in that it’s significantly more affordable and even though it’s disposable (operates for around 100 cleanses only), this means you have time to decide whether you want to invest in the real thing!

So far it’s been fantastic, but I’ll be posting a full review on bh at the beginning of September – stay tuned 🙂

    xx

Not to make your decision even harder – but I’ve also heard the Mirenesse pebble sonic is supposed to be really good. Looks similar design to Foreo too and the prices super reasonable right now + if sign up for their email letter an extra 20% off

Now I just need to decide if I get the Foreo Luna 2 or the Foreo Luna mini 2! So unfortunate that Foreo aren’t listed on BH! I could have read some reviews!

My skin is so hard to describe! I get oily in areas, dry in areas, sensitive in areas, and have a lot of blackheads and the occasional hormonal breakout. I think I’m going to go with the Foreo as it provides more gentle exfoliation and has an anti-ageing massage aspect to it as well which will be useful I think. I just don’t want to risk the Clarisonic being too harsh on my skin. And I like that the Foreo is a once off payment too, and doesn’t need maintenance or replacement pieces.

If you have a sensitive and/or challenging type of skin and you’re considering buying the Clarisonic, this video by makeup artist, Wayne Goss, may help you decide:

It is possible that his negative experience was due to him using the Clarisonic too much, so take that into consideration.

PrincessMadeleine, I think you need to take your type of skin into consideration. If you have oily/combination skin, you could benefit from the Clarisonic or something similar. I have dry and mature skin, and I don’t know if any type of cleansing machine is going to do much for my skin. I’m very thorough when cleansing my makeup, plus the only time I get pimples is when I introduce a new beauty product and my skin doesn’t like an ingredient. I tried Olay’s cleansing brush, and a few days of use was enough for me because it felt too harsh, plus I was worried about getting worse broken capillaries.

Just thought I’d give you a heads up on a good deal for Clarisonic at Skinstore at the moment. If you add code SAVE40 at checkout you get 40% off and they also have free shipping on orders over $49. Much cheaper than buying in Australia! Not sure how long the code will work for.

Will add this to the bargain alert thread too but thought I’d let you know as you’re thinking of getting one. 🙂

Ok so I was totally convinced about buying the Clarisonic Mia 2… And then I discovered the Foreo Luna! The Clarisonic looks a lot more user friendly, and it looks like it would cleanse my skin well. The Foreo looks so strange! But I have heard amazing things, and everyone is telling me to go for that over the Clarisonic… Ahhh decisions!

I`ve heard the same about Foreo. One good thing about the foreo is that you don`t have to buy replacement heads, unlike with the Clarisonic. I haven`t tried either though, so I don`t know if the hype is justified.
