Avon (Anew?) For Eczema?!

Hi guys!
I am new to this forum but I am sure there is an introduction thread somewhere I will properly introduce myself on…

I have had eczema since I was 7 years old, I am now 22 and it has literally plagued my life. I have been hospitalised for it before and personally believe i have taken & applied more steroids than one should ever think about in a lifetime!

I recently became an Avon rep and upon signing up was encouraged to purchase the ‘ANEW’ starter pack, to which I gracefully declined… ‘Avon, for eczema? Not a chance’ fearing an absolute blow up of itchiness I decided to give it a miss….

However – I received some samples with my first order, of the ‘Anew Aqua Youth’ and since placing my second order I received a small tub of the ‘Anew Reversalist’ and I can honestly say – SO SHOCKED at the positive response I have felt from this cream.

I am yet to try their clearskin range (or even their baby range)

Just wondering though – has anyone else has a positive experience using Avon’s creams on their problem skin? Or the opposite, has anyone run into even more problems from using it? And does anyone have any other products they could recommend?? 🙂

Thanks everyone!!!

I never thought about trying the baby products, I think I got samples of them when they launched a new range like a couple years ago, but I never used them.

Sounds interesting 🙂 I’d never have thought to try baby products because they are a lot more gentle.

Haha oh i know I would feel so awkward leaving it at a customers door…. I wouldn’t like it if someone did that to me 🙁

But each to their own I suppose…

I have been told to try the baby products, being that babies are prone to sensitive skin haha I will let you know how that goes!

That’s good if you are motivated and love to speak to people 🙂 The rep in my area was always in rush, and half the time just left the products at my front door! I’m like, ‘hello!, somebody could just come along and steal them!’ that annoyed me.

That’s okay. I look at the brochure online sometimes, so I just go the website usually 🙂

Haha yeah there are still so many people that dabble in Avon, but I think it becomes, like…. not worth it if they don’t invest a lot of time into it… and most people only get it if they want a little bit of extra cash, but to earn that little bit of extra cash ends up being a little time consuming.

Having said that – it depends on the person… I am motivated, and love to speak to people, and I actually wear the products… So i don’t struggle to go around selling it, as it’s not like i’m pushing products on to people that I wouldn’t even use -.-

For the record – I sucked at doing cold calls for a charity!!! Didn’t believe the wage I was getting paid, and as if the charity made a cent…. That I could never do again!

But I am trying to encourage my mates to become reps underneath me, because a lot of them have really good networks already, so if you’re not starting with nothing… it’s a lot easier! 🙂

Did you want a brochure emailed? Lol

Yeah, my sister uses the green one 🙂 I don’t really have sensitive skin on my body, but I do get bad reactions to most deodorants, sometimes I’ll also get eczema underneath my underarms as well. I just don’t want to take the risk, the rash I can get hurts really bad. I use a tea tree oil deodorant instead, and that’s fine with me.
Its strange, because I hardly ever get eczema, just sometimes in winter on my hands. I always have to use heaps of hand creams. I used to use the avon ‘rich moisture’ hand cream heaps, and it helped a lot. But the rep that used to sell to me decided to quit in my area, and I was spending a lot so I thought I’d give it a break for awhile. Sometimes my friend at uni who sells it will ask if I want anything.

    Haha yes!
Mum loves the deodorant so much, definitely cheap and I use that one too… She uses the green ‘Fresh’ one i think it’s called, I have that plus the ’24’ one. All for $1.99 🙂
I think I must be a bit odd, I thought that with my sensitive skin I would not be able to use any products, having said that… I have friends that DO NOT traditionally have sensitive skin and they have had negative reactions………
    So it’s a bit strange,

That’s good that you didn’t have any reactions to the shower gel you tried 🙂

Yeah, the ones I mostly used to get were like 1.99 or 2.99, I think it was for 200ml. But they smelt really nice.

I tried one thing from the solutions range, it was a day cream but it was to heavy for my skin because it’s oily. I gave it to my mum to use instead. They also have nice body lotions that come in the 200ml (or 250 size), and they also cost like 2.99 and the coconut and lemon grass one I used to get (not sure if they make it any more) used to smell sooo good.

The also sell roll on deodorants that my sister used to use, but I have sensitive underarms so I was always afraid to try them. Often you could get them on special for like 1.99 or something.

    Hey 🙂

Funnily enough that you should mention the shower gels and all that… I got the ‘City Rush’ shower gel for sending in my second order to avon over the $150 minimum…. And being that it is from the ‘City Rush’ perfume range, you would assume the worst… But I used that in the shower and I was so surprised especially with the fragrance that I had no reaction to it….

But thats why I am going to order the cheap $1.99 ones from this campaign haha you can’t go wrong…. Even if I do have a reaction, it’s a cheap enough outlay!!! 🙂

Have you used the solutions range? 🙂 I haven’t used that one either…

I haven’t used their anew range, but my dad has tried it. My mum made him try it for really bad eczema, and it he has a anew face wash. It’s the only thing he can use that clears it away, and keeps it from coming back. I thought it was crazy! But it’s working for him. My mums uses the anti-aging products and says she’s sees good results from them.

I’ve used their cleanskin range, and it’s pretty comparable to brands like neutrogena and garnier skin care. It’s nothing AMAZING but does clean your skin well, and you can get deals often if you buy 2 or more, etc from the range. The clay mask is nice if you have pimples, I used to use it when I was a teen.

One I really used to like (I hardly order avon anymore, but have been thinking about recently), is the shower gels. The bath products smelt really nice. Just be careful if you have eczema though, I’m not sure if you’d have a reaction or anything.
