LOL misfortune8… How hilarious. I too have been thinking menopause might not be so bad. At least the acne will end. It will end won’t it? 😛

I’ve got thyroid disease & when my specialist said I might experience early menopause – I was overjoyed. I’ve been looking out for signs for years now! Last time I saw her I asked wtf? She said I MIGHT experience early menopause. I’ve been holding onto that dream like a like a piece of flotsam in the shipwreck that is my life.

I might be clutching at straws, but I’m pretty sure that at the very least, menopause will put an end to my bloody period! Fingers crossed.

30 and still getting them. I remember being on the cusp of turning 20 and stupidly thinking “Yay, the end of acne!”

Mine seem to be worse than when I was a teen. Broken out along my chin and cheeks. It’s frustrating as it could be a number of things – from what I’ve read, chin acne is hormonal.

Other factors, stress, diet, hormones maybe even the blanket around my chin, skin care…etc.
It’s difficult to narrow down the cause(s) and in the meantime, they keep on coming.

My latest test has been switching my cleanser. I’m trying to also stress less as that flares things up. Grr!

Imagine someone so naïve: “turning 20 & stupidly thinking “Yah, the end of acne!” LOL! I’m looking forward to menopause as the end of acne. No signs yet, I hope my assumption’s not as wrong as yours.
I love Biore cleansers. Cheap but effective. It was the first time I tried a product that made a visible difference to my blackhead zone across the nose. I’ve been using Biore for 5 years or more now – I don’t think I’ll ever go back.
In the last month I’ve taken advice from Nature_Girl on another thread & started using jojoba oil. My skin is oily & I get premenstrual breakouts. I’ve always bought oil-free everything – makeup, sunscreen, moisturisers. Jojoba oil is supposed to be similar to our natural sebum. The theory is that the correct oil balance will manage the over-oiliness. I thought it sounded odd, but a few forumites agreed & swore by it, so I gave it a go & I’m glad I did.

Your problem though… you’re 30 & they’ve become worse than your teens! Next time you visit the doc, mention it – who knows? hormonal problem?
How’s your cleanser change been going?

Pimples could be outta allergy to certain foodstuffs also..some may be allergic to fried items n some eggs, chocolates, potatoes etc..or in some it could be just the hormonal imbalance..thats more likely to occur in the teens and is seen ceasing in most of them after that..

i suggest to go for some home remedies rather than relaying on the drug store products which may not give the desired results or even make the situaion worse……wot u should do is make your skin healthy..dats the best way to avoid pimples..this could be done by maintainin a healthy diet as well as takin good care of your skin….u can choose from these n do concentrate on your T zones when you apply them —

Take 2-3 teaspoons of rice powder and mix it in orange juice (sufficient amt so dat u get a smooth paste).apply it all over your face and neck n let it dry.wash it off with orange juice itself.it makes your skin glow, acts against pimples, removes black n white heads if any as rice powder s a good scrub..[i found this one too good…does miracles in days!!]
It all up to you if you wish you can use Ratino A cream, which is also a wonder product. You can check it at drugs drop ship24.

I am 27 and still getting horrible pimples….proactive works for me usually but this recent outbreak is freaking stubborn… 🙁

I just want to chime in and say that at 40 I’m STILL getting acne. Basically because if it’s true acne, you have a life-long hormonal condition that needs constant treatment. Unless you go for Roaccutane. And even that’s not 100% guaranteed to cure it. Which is quite depressing… Anyway, I’m on Retin A and Estelle (hormonal birth control pill) and that seems to keep me clear. I also have some skincare triggers… I have to avoid olive oil like the plague as it brings me out in huge pimples. Vitamin E (tocopheryl) can cause little bumpy blocked pores on me as well.

I tried the Tea Tree Oil from Body Shop but it didn’t work which is a shame as I love the smell!
I just bought a Dr LeWinn’s Medic Spot Corrector Gel that I got for just $5 in Priceline’s clearance rack. I have a pimple right now so I’ll see if it will work for me.
I tried Dermalogica Concealing Spot Treatment and it worked for me for about 4 uses and then it stopped working for me! My pimples were still there and just made the spot really dry!
I haven’t tried the Jojoba Oil though, can I use it just as a spot corrector? Where’s the best place to buy one?

I haven’t bought any yet, but I did some searching. I went to the Chemist Warehouse website & put ‘jojoba oil’ into their search bar. Then I had to click to confirm that I was over 18! I thought wtf? but I clicked it anyway out of curiosity. There was 1 product & it was called ‘back door anal relaxing glide with jojoba’. ROFL I suppose that’s immature but I did get a shock.
    Priceline have 2 brands: Oil Garden Aromatherapy 25mL – $14.99 or 100mL – $26.99;
    In Essence 100mL – $23.99 or 200mL – $37.59.
The In Essence is currently 20%off which makes it the most economical per mL, but I’m going to try out the 25mL OGA first to see how I go. The IE is called massage oil base, yet the ingredients are identical for both brands: Simmondsia chinensis 1mL/mL.

misfortune8! You never fail to make me laugh! I swear you’re the cause of my late nights! I now tend to wait till it’s 10pm and wait if you’re going to write a witty post or reply to the spammers!!
That’s a good use for Jojoba! It is the magic oil! haha
Thanks for the other tips too! I may try that after a few uses of my Dr LeWinns Spot Corrector and the rate things are going, I may have to chuck it out as it doesn’t dry my pimples as fast as I want it to be.

    Hey *Smiley,*
I’m around later than usual. What do you mean you laugh at my posts? Did you laugh at my heartfelt comment about my Dita Von Teese lacy race date knickers too? I confided in the celebraty (sic) underwear thread, but I want you to know that everything I say comes from the heart of my bottom.
I haven’t been able to get out to get the jojoba oil yet, but I had a further look around online after *Petal’s* comment about the health food stores (Thanks *Petal!*). There are some discount vitamin shops which sell Springfield brand Aussie grown jojoba oil for around $15/50mL give or take a buck. I didn’t want to pay postage if I could buy it from somewhere nearby.
    🙂

    Hi *misfortune8*!
What I mean is that you’re a breathe of fresh air after a long and stressful day at work! Your posts and comments make BH more fun and I’m pretty sure the other beauties will agree with me!
Just consider me as a crazy fan who looks forward to your witty posts! 🙂
You never fail to make me smile! I think that’s more worded correctly! haha

Have you bought a Jojoba oil already? I can’t wait for your review and tips! *wink

    Hey Smiley,
I should have been a pathology nurse – I’m always taking the piss!
I bought some jojoba oil today: $17.50/100mL Australian grown Springfield brand from a health food shop. Haven’t tried it yet.
I was going to get it for $14.99/25mL at Priceline because I didn’t want a huge bottle since I haven’t tried it before. Then I found online $15ish/50mL: same price twice as much – why not? When I got to the shop, they were on sale cheaper than their website quoted. I could have paid $13.50/50mL or $17.50/100mL. Naturally, I paid $4 extra to get twice as much again. So, I ended up with a huge bottle anyway. If it’s no good for me, I’ll just use it up as an eye makeup remover.
