What have you always wanted to ask a make-up artist?

Hi beauties,

Just wondering if you’ve had any burning questions you’d love a make-up artist/expert to answer?

For me, it’d be: how do you know when it’s time to chuck out your mascara (other than the whole after three months thing)?

Post your questions and queries here and I’ll do my best to have them answered!

    Carli, my question is:

What is/are the best drugstore liquid foundation(s) that don’t contain any chemical sunscreen ingredients and suit light Asian skintone?

Do make up finishing sprays really make a difference or is it just a bit of a gimmick?

I love this question and I second it. I’ve bought one from the US and love it but it is so expensive. Some drag queens use hair spray but the thought of doing that is not particularly appealing. So, what’s the alternative, or is there one? Or can we make one? Or do we suffer with what’s available?!!! So interested to find out!

I did a diploma of makeup last year and asked my teacher this in regards to whether she uses it for brides. She said that if you have invested in quality makeup and applied it correctly, there’s no need use a finishing spray.
But on the other hand I know lots of people swear by them, so I suppose it’s best to try and make your own personal judgement. Using hair spray for the odd special occasion is fine, but I wouldn’t suggest doing it everyday.

That’s a good point, however at my wedding, I was OCD enough to spray my face with mine after I had my makeup professionally done. The difference between my makeup and that of my matron of honour (both done by the same artist, and we are both the same age), is that my makeup stayed put whereas hers started to stray. The makeup: Napoleon Perdis. Conundrum!

What are the best ways to cover red marks left from breakouts? My products now are slowly fading them but in the mean time they look purple underneath concealer/foundation.

Lovely question. I have the same issue! xx
