“Special Occasion” Foundation

Hey ladies, looking for recommendations for foundations for nice foundation for special occasions. For me that means I’m looking for something probably high(ish) end that has fuller coverage but won’t look too full on as I generally have a fairly natural look. So I want to look more done up than usual, but still like myself.
I was looking at the Born This Way from Too Faced, but they didn’t have my colour in stock. Ideas?

estee lauder double wear is seriously amazing and for $50 it definitely gives other foundations a run for its money! it stays on all day and does not move (i have dry skin and i never set it). it is also full coverage and does not look overly made up and cakey!

Estee Lauder Double Wear is great for special occasions – think its around the $50 mark so its not too bad..
YSL fusion ink foundation is also a great one too…
    Make up forever HD
And Lancôme have a really nice one as well I think its called the Teint Idole and they have quite a lot of shades… 🙂

    Thanks for the comments!
I got a sample of the Nars Sheer Glow and it is so lovely! Its expensive but not outrageously so at the moment…hopefully it won’t go up too much due to the exchange rate…

I have the Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Ink Foundation and I have absolutely fallen in love. The formulation is so thin and light weight, and feels like nothing on the skin. It’s a build able medium coverage in my eyes. I wear it for special occasions because it makes my skin feel really lovely and gives a great finish, and it’s rather long wearing. They have a pretty good colour range as well, with yellow undertones or golden undertones etc.
I have it in the shade BD20 and it actually looks like my skin but better! Blends perfectly and is a dream to work with. I highly recommend this foundation.
You can pick it up from Mecca Maxima for $85. It is a little pricey, but what you get is totally worth it. I’d suggest to go in store and get a colour match and ask for a sample to get it out first just in case you don’t like it, so you don’t waste your money.

If I could afford it, my special occassion foundation would be Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk… it is gorgeous. Blends so well, fantastic finish $95 pricetag :'( (I just steal off my sister… for her it’s an everyday staple)

Have you tried NARS? I love their foundations but I no longer fit within their colour range bizarrely. I don’t know if it’s them that changed or me. Both their older foundation and the new formula are gorgeous. I would wear them if I could! They’re more reasonable at around $60
