Pale skin long lasting Priceline foundation?

I need to pick your beauty brains, gorgeous girls. I currently have found a grand total of two foundations tht match my skin’s tine and needs. Very pale, ageing and oily. So far I have Doublewear in 1N2 which is a pefect colour match and a great formulation for me, but a bit more expensive than I would like for every day wear. Colourstay in Buff is slightly pink but works okay colour-wise, however I don’t love the formulation. It cracks on dry patches and settles in fine lines. And it takes a lot more work to get it melded with my skin than the Doublewear. Doublewear light in intensity 1 is too dark. Garnier bb cream (oily) is too dark. Bourjois healthy mix in 51 is a good colour match but not good on oily skin. Powder foundations are horrible on my fine lines. I should add my skin I sensitive because I have to use benzoyl peroxide and retin-a for adult acne. And bourjois 123 perfect breaks me out. I seriously spent way too long in Priceline today swatching things next to Colourstay in Buff to try to find a neutral pale foundation in a long lasting formulation and came up with nothing. Not a single one pale enough or not too pink. Why do companies think pale equates with pink?
Much as I love high end foundation, I don’t want to use it every day. And I do wear foundation every day. Acne scars, age spots, pigmentation and blemishes. Need I say more?
Please help me!

*Petal* and *Imi11* I have that Covergirl 3 in 1 and it is cakey as hell on me!
I don’t know if it’s just my skin or what (sensitive, dryish) but I used it for a month and finally admitted to myself it looked bad 🙁
*CurlFriday* I’ve wanted the Bourjois Healthy Foundation for YEARS!!! I wonder why I’ve never bought it!. Totally must try! Hope it has good staying power!

    Oh no! That sucks!
What kind of skin do you have so we can suggest more suitable matches.
Sounds like it might be dry?

The Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 is really long lasting. I bought it during the 40% off sale, I did originally have it, but in the wrong shade. I picked the lightest shade that was available, Classic Ivory 810. If that’s light enough for you, i’d really recommend it. It lasts all day on my skin!

Emma, if it suits your skin type the Bourjois Healthy Mix in 51 is pale and neutral. Not really yellow, but not pink either. Hope that helps.

I’m pale, but not ‘ivory’. I want a yellow based long lasting foundation that doesnt cost the earth. Help me please!

Emma, you might want to let people know your type of skin so that we can make suggestions. If you have dry skin, I could suggest foundations because my skin is dry. If you have oily/combination skin, then someone else should be able to help you. The first budget foundation that springs to my mind for you is Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. I haven’t tried it because I suspect it won’t work on my dry skin. I would think that finding a yellow-based foundation shouldn’t be hard because most foundations look far too yellow on me. L’oreal make high quality foundations. You could try their True Match Foundation.

Petal, have you had a chance to try out the Bobbi Brown stick yet? I was Christmas shopping on Thursday and somehow ended up getting colour matched at the Lancôme counter (how does that happen, ;)) I wanted a pressed powder for touch ups and On my way! how ended up with a full face of Teint Idole Ultra 24hour which I got colour matched as 005 in. To be honest I knew I was pale but would have guessed the 010. Goes to show it pays extra bonus points to get colour matched properly. If only the counter staff at my Myer looked a bit more like they knew how to apply makeup (in the right colour) I would be after their advice all the time. My new strategy is to scope out one who looks like a) she is pale skinned herself and b) is actually wearing the right shade.

CurlFriday, I only received my Bobbi Brown foundation on Thursday, so I haven’t had a chance to try it. I will let you know what it is like once I have. Regarding the Lancome foundation, I think it could be the one that I tested. The sales assistant was extremely resistant to me trying the palest shade (like all sales assistants), but I urged her to let me try. Once I had applied it to my face, she said she was shocked that it was the right shade.

I often speak about how sales assistants always suggest darker shades for me to a friend. She said that maybe it is because so many people want that bronzed look to their skin (which I’m not into). I made a rare trip to the city recently and I went to the MAC counter to test Face & Body Foundation. I wanted to buy it in neutral, but two sales assistants insisted that I needed the more yellow-based version. I walked out there without buying a foundation.

CurlFriday, I had a feeling that you would end up with a high end foundation! It can be tricky finding a pale foundation that also works with your skin type.

Finally made it to Priceline and I officially give up on “drugstore” foundations. Searched the Rimmel and the Infinite Colour against the Colourstay in Buff and they were both either too dark or too pink or a combination of both. I’m done. It’s Colourstay or high end for me. I wish Myer online accepted gift cards, I have one to use up and that Bobbi Brown has my name all over it.
