Nivea Men Sensitive After Shave Balm – does it work or not?

I’ve recently heard a lot of people raving about Nivea Men’s After Shave Balm as a primer, but I’m not 100% sure so I want to find out if people have actually tried it and if it actually works?! I don’t want to use it if it’s going to have a bad effect on my face, but apparently it makes make up last forever?!

Thoughts?!

Hi all,yes I agree the glycerin would be responsible for the ‘smooth on ‘ effect but I have tried many make up primers and have found that Jojoba Oil is great as a Primer for makeup .it also adapts to your skin .For instance , if you have an oiler skin , it will help matting it while if your skin is on the drier side , it helps add moisture to it . Hope I’ve helped !

Has anyone done a comparison to a silicone based primer and the balm?
    Would be interesting

I think the beauty companies will be definitely be watching this trend and mimicking. And so they should! The Nivea balm has a lot a glycerine, which is moisturising. Hopefully some brands will release a product with the same type of ingredients and with a nice pretty smell 😛

I have combination skin, and I didn’t find this product as a primer did anything for me. I didn’t have any bad reactions, thankfully, but must say, that after all the hype, it was just like applying a moisturiser underneath foundation. I even tried using on half of my face to compare, but at the end of the day there was no difference. Most raves I hear are from those with dry skin.

I have tried it. It’s good on dry skin like mine but on oily skin I doubt it would be good. It is highly fragranced though, so could well break you out if you are at all sensitive to fragrances. I don’t think I would say it makes makeup last on the skin forever, but it does help with longevity. Hope that helps.
