Hi all, I was expecting it to accentuate my lines and wrinkles but I’ve found it to be the opposite to most of the comments above!? I actually have loved it.

Anna or Beth- will the survey link be available in the next few days still??
    Thanks x

Hi Growing Old, I am so happy to “see” you post 🙂
Glad you liked the foundation, did you get the link via email to submit your survey? I completed mine a few days ago and it’s not too complicated so it shouldn’t take too long.

Hi Claire 🙂 thanks xxx yes I just recieved the survey link via email and have submitted it. I really loved the foundation! I have had a battle (and subsequent paranoia ) with finding a foundation for decades!!! I had decided that this year I was going to bite the billet and go to the fancy counters and pay for the applications to try to find a foundation. I would have never purchased this one but I’ve found it the best finish I’ve had out of what seems like a million bottles of foundation over the years. I love the coverage, love the staying power, even love the little stick lol! The only negative really as you pointed out is the alcohol content however I use liquid gold and had inner turmoil for months before purchasing it as it is very alcohol heavy however I have only found improvements to my skin since using that so I think I’m not as alarmed anymore when I do find it as an ingrediant. Claire I was going to email you to ask if you use or have tried the indeed labs hydralorun cloth masks?? I have had a card sitting here to send t you and I was going to pop one in the post to u but thought I’d check first incase you don’t use them or don’t like them! 🙂 xxx

I haven’t had a chance to try the Indeed Labs cloth masks, but that’s on my to try list too… Mind you, it’s a very long list 😉
I have used the Indeed Labs Pepta bright which I do like, but that’s the only Indeed Labs product that I have tried.

Great!! I will get it in the post by the end of the week 🙂 be one thing off UR list to try..then probably be on ur list to buy 🙂 xx

I might try this with a primer as well. I unfortunately have the same issue with dry patches with this foundation. Even after using more moisturiser than I ordinarily would I find dry patches all over when using this foundation… It’s taking a lot of work to try to use this foundation!

That’s a shame that many of you have had issue with dryness. It’s strange that I haven’t experienced it too. I was expecting it, especially because the formulation isn’t particularly moisturising at all.
I do layer my skincare, cleanse, tone, SKII FTE, Jurlique serum, Pepta bright, jurlique nutri define day cream, sunscreen then ….primer…phew! Whether the layers between helps with hydration I don’t know.
I don’t wait for the foundation to drop from the dripper, otherwise it takes to long, I just smear it on my face..lol! Then blend with my fingers. You have to work fast as it dries quickly!

Bit late, but finally tried it with a primer (which is something I don’t normally need to use and so spent over 2 days looking for it haha). I agree with Anita87 completely! This foundation actually made me think I had ‘dry skin’ so just for experimental purposes I switched from using my daily usual pore-unblocking (but slightly drying) cleanser to a very gentle one made for sensitive skin, and stopped using any acne cream- which I usually only use a tiny amount of anyway) on the tiny blind pimples I’m prone to getting around my hair line and on my nose during summer.

Today used a heavy night cream I had lying around, let it sink in, and then the primer. Waited 10 mins. Applied the foundation (using the same method of smearing the ridiculous dripper on my face lol…) Then blending with my fingers. This seemed to get rid of the dryness issue. So I do believe Claire88’s your skincare regime of layering that many products before application certainly helps with hydration! But eh, for me, at least for a daytime foundation claiming to be a sunscreen product, it’s far too much work, time & effort! Give me a good quality BB/CC Cream any day!

I received my foundation a few days ago and I have been using for a couple of days now. The applicator is unusual to seems to work ok. What does everyone else think?
The foundation performs really well and feels very light weight. It’s been quite warm in Perth the last few days and my foundation still looks good all day, not shiny or oily looking. I am a bit torn because I really like the foundation for Summer because it’s not heavy and has good buildable coverage, but after reading about the high alcohol content I am concerned how my skin will respond. I have been using a primer and I make sure my skin is well moisturised , plus I use a separate sunscreen. So far, no issues with irritation or dryness.

Wow Claire I’ve been thinking your EXACT thoughts! I actually really like the texture and even though there’s a high amount of alcohol, my face (which is usually dry) hasn’t become worse or anything but I do worry for my skin in the long term… As to the brush, utterly useless! I end up smearing the product onto my fingers then dot the foundation on my face before blending it out with a brush (I like the results better than using my fingers).

I agree that the applicator is a bit pointless as nothing ‘drips’ off it for me so I end up having to smear it on my fingers. A bit worried about the hygiene of that.
As to the foundation itself – we’re not getting along sadly 🙁 I find it dries to a powdery finish that ends up sitting in my pores, making them really noticible. I’m going to try applying it with a brush instead of the Beauty Blender next to see if that makes a difference. I might try a different primer too to make sure it isn’t that.

Maybe I should try using a primer too? But normally facial oil, serum + moisturiser is more than enough for my skin, and too much makes my foundation slide off.

I’m glad to hear you’re using a separate sunscreen, because this foundation is falsely advertised as Broad Spectrum Sunscreen! (not true). I’d hate for someone to use this as a sunscreen, go out in the sun and get badly sunburnt! I’m very fair so that’s always an issue for me.

The comment about it settling into pores – yep same here! I seem to have discovered new pores where I didn’t even notice I had any before, they are so noticeable with this haha!

I will try it with a primer, though I’m skeptical it will help.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I think the applicator is useless as well and a bit of a hassle.
In terms of the foundation it seems to dry out my skin and make patches appear (my normal foundations do not do this). I need to use a lot of moisturiser to try and prevent the dry patches.
The shade I asked for appears darker for me too… although the overall finish is ok it’s not something I would pay for.

I had mixed feelings about this one from the beginning – now I only have negative feelings about it (apologies in advance to anyone who likes and enjoys this product – I don’t wish to ruin it for you). I agree the applicator is a useless ‘new novelty type thing’ and got annoying after my second use.

Due to the extremely high alcohol content in this foundation – (which has been mentioned on BH by many since we found out about this product trial) – I’ve been experiencing the same problem regarding the foundation really drying my skin out, I have normal-combination skin – which is prone to being oily only in summer but never, ever dry in summer!

So I was very concerned when I also had dry patches appear, even where I (at least thought) I had none. When I use my normal BB Cream they are non-existent compared to when wearing this product. The foundation also settled into the tiniest of my fine lines, tiny facial hairs, and basically highlighted every single flaw on my face! I, ahem believe a good foundation should do the exact opposite and create a flawless look?! -_-

I also found the product really hard to apply to get enough coverage. On bare skin, I had to put on at least 3 ‘layers’ to only get a medium coverage at best (however the more layers I added, the more it highlighted my flaws). Even with so many layers I still needed to use a concealer for my under eye area + any redness. I tried using different moisturisers to counteract the drying effect, and my usual Rosehip Facial oil underneath (usually this moisturises my skin perfectly) – still the foundation somehow managed to sneak into my fine lines and dry my skin out… That can’t be a good sign!

The shade I picked was the lightest (I’m extremely fair) and it blended into my skin okay – but only because the formula itself is so lightweight, that 1 layer applied to the skin becomes completely invisible.

Sorry for turning this into a kinda rant lol! Just really disappointed with this product. I am going to contact Maybelline directly to voice my concerns regarding the high alcohol, skin damaging content, plus the misleading “Broad Spectrum Sunscreen” use of the product.
