Make-up brushes

I’m on the hunt for an affordable, good-quality make-up brush set.

I’ve had my eye on the Sigma brush sets for awhile – but I don’t know if I can bring myself to spend $100 on them.

What would you guys recommend?

Real Techniques are my HG brushes, otherwise if IMATS is accessible, it’s in a few months and there’s a variety of affordable brushes there!

I recently brought Sigma Brushes from Refining Beauty Australia. They are the same price as Sigma U.S, I received them with in 3 days.
I would absolutely recommend them and Sigma brushes! I am very happy with my purchase.

I’ve bought from Redefining Beauty several times, customer service is great, I’m so glad I don’t have to order from the US site anymore, can’t stand waiting weeks for my brushes!

Here’s the link to their site: http://redefiningbeauty.com.au/

I love the sound of the real techniques brushes currently I don’t really have a set I just have a few really cheap brushes

I think Real Techniques and Sigma are the best and most affordable. I have a few mac brushes which are good, but Sigma’s dupes are pretty darn close and a fraction of the cost.

There is a brand of makeup brushes that isn’t talked about much, and that is Mirenesse. I have many Real Techniques brushes, but I keep reaching for the Mirenesse brushes much more when applying eyeshadow (I only have the eyes and lip brushes set). Wait for one of their sales to get a discount. The next brushes I plan on buying will be from Furless (based on positive recommendations here), plus some MAC brushes.

I recently bought the ecotools, mineral set and the essentials set. I was sceptical due to them being so cheap but several people recommended them and you know what they are brilliant a million times better than Napoleon brushes which just fall apart.

I use EcoTools which you can purchase from Woolies or Priceline and possibly other places. I like the design and the bristles are soft.

I say for really affordable prices, ecotools work wonders! Grab some when priceline has 40% sale!! Likewise real techniques is amazing and grab them only when priceline has good sales or not it is not worth it.
Likewise you can order it off iherb! it is half the price that it is sold in australia, and if you go to jordysbeautyspot youtuvbe channel, the down bar of all her videos offer you a code where u get $5 off your first purchase if u spent like over $10 or something… and $10 off your first purchase if u spent over like $40?? something like that 😀

On the other hand, what u can do is wait for IMATS sydney which occurs around september as IMATS is filled with multiple brush stores for affordable price. I heard royals brand are really cheap and is pretty decent in quality.

But then again, I have heard so much rave about Sigma and if you really do NEED the brushes, then maybe you could get some.
Another thing you could try is actually contacting Sigma directly and explain your situation and they might offer to send you some of their brushes to try out?…
I did that with a cosmetics company and they gave me a sample of that product for free to try. 😀

Bought some makeup brushes from Sephora when I was in the US last year and love them. I hate that Sephora has banned parcel forwarding! I’m going to Paris this year though so will probably stock up on some more.

I have many MAC brushes amongst other brands, from Chanel, Bobbi Brown etc. Some are cruelty free hair and some are taklon. I bought a set of Mirenesse brushes for a friend and was very impressed when I used them to do her makeup. Ironically I don’t have a foundation paddle brush or the Sigma F80 flat top for stippling because I was a beauty blender girl but these are my next purchases.
There is definitely a quality tipping point and using good brushes improves your makeup application and finish markedly. It is more about finding the right application tool for you. The real beauty blender is superior to similar shaped dupes. I am not sure if more expensive always equals better. I think looking after your brushes is key. Think Mac brushes are good but I would be selective, some are the bees knees, some are identical to the Sigma equivilent. Just my opinion.
