Let’s talk primers!

I’ve just finished up my holy-grail primer (Tea Tree Pore Minimiser by The Body Shop) and I’m debating whether I should just get another tube, or if I should try something different?

What’s your go to primer?

My main concerns are my pores, sensitive skin, redness, and the occasional dry patch/blemish around my mouth/nose!

My go to primer is Bare Escentuals/ Bare Minerals Primetime primer.
It’s thick yet easy to apply it just glides on and makes your skin feel silky soft.
I find it’s a great primer to use before applying concealer.

If your skin can handle silicone (and I mean industrial strength here) give Smashbox Photo Finish a try. It’s pricey but as someone who sweats and also has problems with dry patches it’s worth it. They have a whole series of ones for different needs including one or two with SPF but my favourite is the original.

Other favourites -Napoleon Perdis AutoPilot (only thing I like from NP tbh), the Rimmel one but I find it really hard to find the one that isn’t basically orange, Mac Prep + Prime (I forget which one… oops!)

I use the SHE magic Primer. Does well to hide pores and keep foundation lasting.

I love illamasqua hydro veil. Its a gel so it helps lock in moisture and creates a perfect base. I have combo skin and it works perfectly and while expensive the tub lasts forever!

Thanks all! Will definitely do some research on your favourites today to see what I should buy!

I really like the loreal base magique. I have redness, dry areas and uneven skin. This disguises a lot. Another 3 that are similar formulas that I like are benefit porefessional, philosophy supernatural primer and Dermalogica skin perfect.

I absolutely love the Natural Radiance by MAC. It comes in two shades that can complement any skin tone and really really holds the make up well. Also, the Urban Decay Vitamin Spray is absolutely magical!! It has so many uses, the main thing is does is hold and perfect your makeup. It can also be used on your eyeshadow brush to take your eyeshadow to the next level!!
