Hot, humid, sticky weather

Hello BH Helpers

I will be visiting Singapore soon and staying there for a while, attending some very formal functions, one of them being a wedding. I have heard wearing foundation and other make-up and having it last, can be a very tricky thing.

Has anyone tried and tested a foundation that will not run down your face when you are in such a climate? Australia too does get hot and sticky on occasion but apparently Singapore will be a completely new chapter.

Any help, advice or suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Thank you

Try a matte foundation and powder over to absorb oil and sweat!

Thanks for all your useful comments and suggestions. I am back from Singapore and was surprised that the weather wasn’t as unbearable as I thought. However, when residents told me they are having a ‘cold spell’ I could see why 🙂 I did survive the ‘cold’ heat and my normal foundations worked very well and stayed on beautifully. I will consider all comments for my future visits overseas. Thank you ladies!

MAC all the way. Their waterproof range is great and I have tested it. I lived in Darwin for several months and this was the only product that could withstand the humidity. Since you are going to a wedding, use their primer as well for an optimum finish. I would also be wearing a water proof mascara – and in this I would recommend Lancome.

I’ve mentioned this product many times on the forum, 3B Neat Feat Face Saver. I get it at Chemist Warehouse. It’s an anti-perspirant for your face. I does contain aluminium, which I know many avoid, but I use it on the hottest days of summer when I go out – not every day. Instructions say apply to your forehead, above lip & back of neck, but I do my whole face, avoiding the eyes & mouth. I’ve had this in my eyes & it stings like mad!

I always avoided setting sprays as I thought they would make the problem worse..! Will have to remember this tip for next summer!! Thanks! 🙂

I was wondering the same thing, as I am going to Bali next week!

I can’t comment on the foundation as I only wear a tinted moisturiser on hot days but I strongly recommend a setting spray (Urban Decay is my favourite) it’ll lock in your foundation
