Favourite Maybelline Products?

As you guys all know, Priceline has a half price sale on Maybelline until 24 August. I’m thinking of going to a Priceline tomorrow and maybe picking up some stuffs. Which products would you recommend?

Ok…I went bare faced to the EL counter and while I asked about the DW foundation she insisted it wouldn’t suit my skin and applied a serum foundation saying it would be better. Well apart from not being able to colour match me at all from that one- tho she attempted hence I then walked around to the other counters and stores with an orange face- I didn’t like that one at all. I wished I had researched their foundations better before heading down Petal as I’ve since found they do have a couple of foundations suited for dry mature skin, more expensive than the DW however I had told her I didn’t care how much it was (obviously ain’t paying hundreds lol!!) if it was ‘perfect’ tho they were on par with the serum foundation she applied. I did manage to get a sample pot of the DW thankfully and I agree it is the one that doesn’t sink in and be slurped up by my skin either. I do find it is a little dry on my forehead however I had applied it over a matte sunscreen (grabbed the wrong one!) when I do go back I will invest in a beauty blender and hope that that helps. I’ve found I only use such a teeny amount of the DW to achieve a full coverage that even after multiple tries I still have a pretty full lil pot!
I also got a sample of their BB cream which I like, colour match was perfect. Lancome I found the one I tried my skin just sucked it up after a couple of hours and was high in alcohol content. Unfortunately MAC had run out of sample pots. The MAC SA was the best to deal with and was supposed to ring me when the pots came in as she was saying that they have several foundations that are for dry and mature skin and that many people (myself included) think their foundations are more for young ones and they are trying to target older people. But she hasn’t rang back. I’m hoping to get back down there in next couple of days and il follow up with MAC and I will buy a BB cream so need to decide between lancome and EL and although the EL one was a perfect match I didn’t realise until days later that my skin colour ATM is completely diff to what it will be in say another month with the changing season but for the BB cream I think il base my decision more on the level of sunscreen provided for those days that require SPF reapplication and is too hard with a face full of norm makeup. I will prob have to do the same as you Petal and end up buying a darker one later and mixing the two to get the right colour as my skin gets a shade or two darker. I waited at the Clinique counter forever, they must have very long lunch breaks lol…she must have just left for lunch so I waited and was also waiting at the Chanel counter however she was busy with another customer who was also looking at foundations and after standing for over a half hour and couldn’t help but listen in…I got paranoid at how the SA was well basically telling the poor lady all the products she HAD to have before she would colour match her so I chose to leave so missed the Clinique also. It was unfortunate that I wasn’t able to get all the samples I had hoped to but so far the DW is the winner for foundation as the ones suggested with a lighter coverage just sunk in like you described Petal. So that was my experience trying to find my perfect foundation lol…still want to try some from MAC but at least I can go get the BB cream for casual days. Tho must say for someone that doesn’t wear foundation often having these diff samples I have been applying them in diff ways over diff products every day and think I’m getting wayyyy to used to having a full face on!!! And fuller coverage!!! Lol 🙂 thanks again to everyone for your tips and recommendations I really appreciate them all 🙂

Growing Old, I just remembered Mirenésse Magic Touch Foundation which looks nice on dry skin. Also, their Velvet Maxi Lift Foundation is good. My only hesitation with both these foundations is that they don’t adhere to my cheeks and nose where I have redness, so I need a primer with it. The best time to buy Mirenésse products is when they have a sale on their website.

Misfortunate, I’m not really keen on the barely branded one. I do also find it course and really hard to blend out. When I first bought them i was using the taupe then barely branded as a highlight but gave up. Now I just use the taupe on its own lightly for days when I want just slight colour (and cover my eyelid imperfections!) and heavier at night. I forgot to pick the bronze one up last week and will def be picking that up soon. I was hoping to get to the counters at Myers tomorrow to look for the perfect (cough cough!) foundation for mature skin but really have no idea what brand I should look at?? I find those counters rather intimidating tbh, feel pressure to buy and I want to be able to see what it looks like in normal lighting as I always think I look great inside after makeup application until I look at myself in natural light …usually in the car on my way..and am mortified lol!

I absolutely loved their colour whisper lipsticks because I love that sheer wash of colour over my lips!!! Was so sad when they discontinued the range I bought almost every single shade of it on eBay.
