Drugstore Liquid Foundation for Pale Skin

I’m in need of a new foundation but am stuck on what to try – I never seem to find anything that matches as much as I’d like. The last foundation I used was Nude by Nature liquid foundation in light but even that was a bit too yellow.
I’m interested in trying L’Oréal True Match or one of the Maybelline Dream ones (can’t remember their exact names) but opinions on those and other suggestions would be appreciated. I don’t wanna spend much 🙂

Your best bet is to go to Mac. They have so many more shades than drugstore foundations, Mac face & body has a white foundation which u can mix with other shades to get your perfect match…totally worth spending a tiny bit more for the correct colour

I have pale skin that rivals snow white, and the only foundation that really matches my skin is the Revlon colourstay foundation range. At the moment I have some bottles of foundation that are a bit too dark, so I’ve just been mixing a small amount of liquid highlighter with my foundation before I apply, and that makes it a shade lighter.

I know this question was asking about foundation. I have very pale skin to have a lot of trouble finding the right colour. I have the same problem with bb cream and I came across nyx bb cream at target the lightest shade nude 01 is the best colour match I’ve ever found for my pale skin.

I will have to check that nyx bb cream out, every bb I have ever tried is too dark. Is it a good product though, or is it just good because its the right colour if you know what I mean?

I myself love the Maybelline foundation range! They have medium-heavy coverage which is perfect for us girls with freckles or breakouts we need to cover up! Plus its also so affordable! I absolutely love their matte+poreless foundation, perfect for oily skin!

I’m going to try l’oreal true match, but surely they don’t keep all 33 shades in every priceline? Even online they only had 11 shades total, across the 3 tones. Or was it only the previous true match in the rounder bottles that was available in 33 shades?

Where I went didn’t have a large selection but I tried a few and ended up getting True Match in Rose Vanilla (C2) and I got something else L’Oréal Paris but it was put in the wrong shade spot and with the label covered so only found out as I opened it that it was the wrong shade for me….. still the True Match looks great and if I see the others anywhere I’ll try testers of them!! Thank you all 🙂

Bourjois Healthy Mix is a good one too.

Seconding this 🙂 The lightest shade equates to NC15 at MAC.

I live in a really small town so my store selection isn’t very much but I will suss out my surrounding options and see where I can go for a colour match thanks!

**xKimi**, I’m in my early fifties, and I have never had a sales assistant suggest a foundation that is pale enough. They always suggest a shade that is one to three shades darker. MAC makeup artists especially insist that I’m much darker. The closest that I’ve had a sales assistant match me was at a Bobbi Brown counter, and it was still tricky due to the store’s lighting. Perhaps people suggest darker shades because I am not ghostly white pale and/or because of the store’s lighting. One of the sales assistants at my local pharmacy has an obvious demarcation line where her foundation looks about three shades too dark, but it is also very orange. Needless to say, I haven’t bought a foundation from her.

I doubt that once you have opened a foundation that you could return it because it is not standard practice to return makeup in Australia. The only way that I could see an assistant giving you a refund is if you had a serious reaction to a product.

That’s quite a shame that it always happens to you! It also leaves me more hesitant to asking for their help….

I kept reading the possibility online but really didn’t think so – I’ll just have to not screw it up lol! My last foundation didn’t match anyway so anything should be an improvement from that one.

I would suggest going to a make up counter and being colour matched. You could try Revlon at Myer if you’re after a cheaper brand. I have bought online before without being coloured matched and it’s a disaster! Covergirl 3 in 1 has a really light shade of 805 which I have only been able to find online. As for returning opened products, I believe this is only available in America.
