Alcohol based makeup brush cleaners?
In the BH article on cleaning makeup tools, it mentions using alcohol base makeup brush cleaners. I don’t know of any – do you?

I’ve found some brush cleaning gloves that might interest people:

I found these at Kit. They are not designed for brush cleaning, but I’m wondering whether they might work for that purpose:

Yes, I’ve found that while the Daiso cleaner is fantastic for sponges like the Beauty Blender it’s not that great for brushes. I think I’ll give Castile soap a go the next time I deep clean.

Hmm I almost bought the daiso cleaner since it has such raves, but I still have plenty of Castile soap. My spray cleaner just says ‘alcohol and other minor ingred ‘. Have you tried the homemade brush cleaner recipe that is all over the net? It’s based on isopropyl alcohol. I want to buy one of those silicone honeycomb texture matts to make deep cleaning quicker but I can’t remember where I saw them!

This is a very useful thread, thanks for starting it Roxymisha and Zaralis for the info! I’ve been using the Daiso cleaner, it’s great at deep cleaning but it smells bad anyway and my brushes need at least a full day to dry.
I will give the alcohol a chance!
I use to love the daiso cleanser but I’ve found that it doesn’t wash out of the brushes as easily as I thought it did! After rinsing them thoroughly if you swish them around in your hand they will continue to produce foam in the bristles for ages! I have about 5 backups of the bloody stuff to get through! I think the johnson’s & johnson’s baby shampoo is still the best way to go for deep cleaning.
Give the alcohol a go for sure but remember they still need a deep clean every now and then depending on how often they are used and what products they are being used to apply.
