FOR DRY SKIN PEOPLE

I thought I share some of the products and/ or ingredients I have tried in the past and really helps me with dry and or sensitive skin which I have . This is especially in the case with my hands as some brands actually makes my hands drier , perhaps they either have the wrong ingredient mix or missing out one. It also could because we are getting older and this affects dehydration . Make sure you do drink heaps of water as it does make a difference .
Anyway , please share if you have anything that has benefited you , including name of brand/ products, opinions, experiences etc… Thank you

Beneficial products are :
Anything Certified Organic
Rosehip oils
Glycerin
Shea Butter
Non- Citrus products
Soap-free
Sorbelene Creams

Thanks so much for the ideas HQ!

A few things I’ve noticed with my dry/flaky skin –

My skin definitely goes better on a decent amount of a cheaper/mid range face oil than a couple of drops of a dearer one. I’m currently using a Palmer’s one and it is the only thing that has saved me this winter!

Fear balms not! So I know after everything we’ve read about pore clogging etc it can be scary to put something with a balmy texture on your face but I find that sometimes you need that barrier. I try and keep my face petrochemical free so I’ve recently switched from PawPaw to Trilogy Everything Balm (which is a beautiful product for anyone… it’s magic). I put it anywhere that is a bit flaky at least a couple of times a week. For me it’s often my nostrils, the side of my nose, my eyebrows (bizarre) and of course my lips as well as the perimeter of my face (hairline, jawline). On my whole eye area I use an eye balm instead of an eye cream every night (It’s a L’oreal one that sadly has mineral oil in it so I won’t repurchase but it’s fantastic!)

Hyaluronic acid! It sounds drying but it actually helps your skin retain water (not oil… remember we need both!) I really want to try Hydraluron from priceline because this ingredient is magical. Both moisturisers I’ve tried with it have really really worked for me.

I always have a problem with my makeup sitting on top of the dry skin which looks gross. There are two things I do to combat this. The first is gentle manual exfoliation in the form of my clarisonic used almost every night. Relying on chemical exfoliation does not work for my skin. (I still do a bit of it though). The second step is a setting spray either instead of or over my powder. The most moisturising one is Fix + by MAC because it has Glycerin in it but I also use the Nyx one and love it.

Also I have to echo the Rosehip Oil thing which for me is unfortunate because I can’t stand the smell.

Sorry for the epic post! Combatting dry skin is pretty much my full time job so it’s a topic I could talk for days about!
