Yellow based foundation

Hey all, I need help finding a foundation that matches my skin.

I have really yellow toned, pale skin and every foundation light enough for me is way to pink. This is my current foundation which I was matched with at the MAC counter, it’s MAC NC20 which is supposedly yellow based but still looks like far too pink/peach for my skin. The lighting is a bit weird but it literally looks like I’m wearing a pink mask.

Can anyone recommend a foundation that might be yellow enough?? I’ve heard good things about the NARS shade range but theres no stockists in my state and I’m a bit iffy about buying foundation online.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies! I have the yellow pigment from Lush but for some reason it mixes horribly with every foundation I’ve tried, and it’s not the right shade to use alone with moisturiser. After tossing up between Nars and Bobbi Brown I decided to go ahead and order a Nars powder foundation so fingers crossed it suits!! 🙂

I agree with everyone else here. NARS and Bobbi Brown have very yellow based foundations. You can also try the new Too Faced foundation although I’m not sure how light their lightest shade is. Otherwise, check out Makeup Forever or the Cover FX Custom Cover drops (Beautybay stocks Cover FX As well) at Sephora if you’re from the Sydney area.

Bobbi Brown foundations are all quite yellow. They make extra yellow ones labelled “warm …” So for example you can get 3 beige and also 3.5 warm beige. Their colour range goes very light too.
The lightest yellow toned foundation I’ve found in Priceline is the L’Oreal True Match in W1. I use it to lighten the tone and add some yellow to other foundations.
From your picture I’d suggest either warm sand or warm beige from Bobbi Brown. Their website offers free exchange on foundations if you pick the wrong colour by the way.

Nars anything! I went to get their new foundation, everything was too yellow even though I generally wear the NC shades. The newer one is much more yellow but even Nars Sheer Glow is pretty yellow.

Not sure about your culture but I am of Asian descent and most of us have a bit of yellow tone in our skin. My foundation is always either sand/ and beige in colour but I have to try it first. Maybelline and Max Factor brands matches me well.

Is there a Lush near you? They have a yellow pigment that you can mix in with your moisturiser if you wanted to.

Also, what about an NW20 instead of the NC20? Some of the NW range (depending on what you get) can be more neutral. But yes, the NC is meant to be a yellow tone. They’ve made you a bit too cool or even too light, and it doesn’t match up with your chest 🙁

Do you also get darker in summer?

    Anyway, here’s the links:

I have both of these, my skin tone changes colour with the seasons, so I can mix and match as I please. I can mix the pigment / colour supplement in with moisturiser or put it directly on my skin like a foundation. It is highly, highly pigmented, so a little can go a long way. There is no SPF in this so you shouldn’t get flash-back, however I have not yet tested that theory.

    Good luck!

    TUD x
