I used to struggle to find the right foundation. I then realise that foundation colour oxidise and changes after you wear them for a while. Nowadays when I go shopping for foundation, I just wear it on my face and walk around for 3O min and review the colour again before buying it.

by adding a lighter foundation you can easily change the color

I’m super pale which means Im the lightest shade in any foundation (which is often too dark still). I use the manic panic dreamtone foundation to lighten any foundation but obviously adding anything will have an effect on the formulation. If you love the foundation then try this, if its inexpensive or you’re not in love with the formula then I would pass it on to family or friends or save for if you have a little colour. I wouldnt bother buying the palest shade and mixing the 2 together because its a pain in the butt to do daily and you are spending more money anyway so you may as well buy the right shade!

I use two foundations all year round, and just change the ratio depending on my tan, one lighter shade and one darker shade!

I couldn’t see them on the Australian body shop

    Fingers crossed though.
The lightening drops would be what you need.

My Estee Lauder foundation was too dark and I didn’t want to throw it away or spend too much of money buying another foundation so I bought a Rimmel foundation in Fair Ivory which is very light (compared to my skin color).

I keep a tiny pot jar with the two foundations mixed to my skin color, and it has worked really well. It has thinned out the Estee Lauder foundation but I found that the coverage and formula wasn’t affected too much.

The Rimmel foundation was under $10 on sale so I was able to fix the problem without spending too much.

    Hope that helps 🙂

If your foundations too dark just mix it with a little moisturiser!

I have pale skin, but it is not ghostly pale. I’ve been mixing FACE Atelier PRO Ultra Foundation in Zero Minus (it is white) with liquid foundations. It has been working well. Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation in Pure White can also be used. MAC Face and Body Foundation can be mixed with their white Face and Body Foundation (apparently, you can’t mix this white with other brands).

EDIT: There is a product by Manic Panic that could be suitable for lightening foundations. It is called Dreamtone Liquid Foundation. I have included a link to a store that sells it in Australia, plus some MakeupAlley reviews:

Virgin White | DREAMTONE LIQUID FOUNDATION

I have also found a white foundation by Stargazer:

    White | PRO FOUNDATION

If anyone has had experience with the Manic Panic or Stargazer white foundations, please let us know what it’s like.

I have summer and winter foundation, as my colour seems to lighten in the colder months, being indoors so much.

I used to suffer from this until I found Boots #7 Foundation Match. The lady at my Boots counter held a gadget to my neck and within 5 mins she told me the colour I should use and she was 100% correct. Now I understand that Maybelline, L’Oreal and many others do this as well. So if the mixing doesn’t work take a walk down your high street…………
