Laser hair removal

Hey everyone, I currently bleach my upper lip hair but I’m not satisfied with the way it looks anymore. I’ve been doing my research about laser hair removal and learnt a few things. That lPI isn’t the best but a long pulsed nd yag laser is for longer more effective results. I’m hesitating over the fact of shaving my face. That if I do buy a home laser product which most of them are IPL that instead of bleaching every fortnight or so and having fine hair, that I will be shaving every 2nd day, have stubble and possibly pigmentation. I would love to hear people’s experience with regards to upper lip laser hair removal. Thanks for your time.

Like katie mentioned laser doesn’t work too well with fair and light hair! If it has darker pigmentation it might grab but it could end up being patchy and result in you needed to wax anyways 🙂 As a general rule of thumb my laser specialist told me if it has blonde or red pigmentation its not worth it, hope this helps!

I’ve heard that it is better for more course hair not so much finer hair on the face…

I used to wax but now I just use a depilatory cream and when I remember (which is hardly ever tbh!) I use the IPL machine at home. Because I haven’t done it very often I don’t notice a difference compared to the rest of my body that I do use it regularly on. But with the IPL it does take time and your skin colour/hair colour makes a difference in the effect as well.

    Hey,

I normally have my lip waxed (ouch!)

I thought that laser would help, I chatted to the las.er girls at my salon who recommended that laser treatment isn’t good for the skin on your face, and the results also won’t be great as the hair is to thin 🙁

It’s such a bummer, it would be so much better than all the waxing, bleaching and plucking!

Thanks for the heads up katie975. I did not know this.
I too am a waxer and I agree with the ouch.
I have read that at different times of the month it can be less painful however I haven`t found the right day yet. hehe
