How to make stubborn lashes hold a curl?

I’ve got semi-monolided eyes and stubborn lashes. Any mascara recommendations and tips and tricks?

Oh man I was in the exact same situation as you up until about three weeks ago when I invested in the Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler. I have hooded lids and the straightest, most stubborn Asian lashes you could possibly get.
The Kevyn Aucoin really lifts and curls your lashes, and if you heat it slightly with your hairdryer it holds for another hour or two, however even without heating it the curl will last me through a 6 hour school day.
Another product that changed my life (and lashes) was a tubing mascara. It’s a lot friendlier on your lashes than a waterproof mascara, however it is water resistant and slightly drier than regular mascara. My favourite is the Australis killer curves as it holds a curl all day and doesn’t weigh down my lashes or make them look clumpy. it’s also only like $13 from priceline which is an added bonus
    Hope this helps! x

The best way to make them hold a curl is to use an eyelash curler before applying mascara, then applying a curling or lenghtening mascara (Maybelline falsies is my absolutely favourite), and follow it up with a second coating of a waterproof mascara (Any brand should work but maybelline collossal cat eye is cheap and great)
which is what makes it stay curled and last ALL DAY LONG.

I’m the same and I have FINALLY worked out what works for me (31 years later….!)
I heat my eyelash curler with a hairdryer (i like this better than using a heater curler but it does the same job really), curl my lashes and then apply mascara – I have found that the curl doesnt hold though unless I use waterproof masacara. My lashes stay curled all day and after discovering this I have stopped getting my lashes permed which I was doing previously, which was great but costly and also sometimes individual lashes were permed in all sorts of weird directions!

There are heated eyelash curlers, I’d think that would help your lashes curl as long as you placed a mascara product on your lashes while your lashes are holding the curl.

    Good luck!

If you want something that lasts a little longer try lash lift ,very natural and lasts 3 to 6 weeks. its like a lash perm but more natural looking.I have straight short lashes and I loved it

Same dilemma as you here. I have eyelashes that if don’t point down, points each which way. Sometimes I put mascara on then use the back of a spoon to force them upwards while mascara dries.
    Weird. I know.

Hi , I lost all my eyelashes about 2 years ago , and when they grew back , they were straight :(, so last week I had a lash lift at a beauticians and so far it’s been 8 days and there still curled … I have even posted photos on my Instagram page @skincareblogger

Use a mascara with a curved wand, it makes heaps of difference. I will zig-zag the mascara through my lashes and leave about 20 seconds, then do a second coat. When I’m almost at the end of the lashes for the second coat, I’ll hold the wand with my lashes still in it to let them ‘set’. Mirenesse iCurl mascara works great for me, my eyelashes almost touch my eyebrows!

Also, are you putting mascara on not long after a shower? If yes, I find this makes them go flat too. It’s like trying to curl hair on your head when its wet – it just doesn’t work! Give your face a short burst on the low heat of your hair dryer to completely dry your lashes first, and your eyelashes will hold the curl better.

If i ave to give you one advice: DO NOT USE LASHES CURLERS, i mean the heated ones, Never! They are the quickest way to lose your lashes forever

Napoleon Perdis said he puts on mascara and then curls with the lash curler while it’s still wet, making sure you do it while the mascara is still wet is the trick.
I dont have your problem so not sure it’ll work though give it a try!
