Help Oily skin girls!

Hey guys,
I get such oily skin and I cant seem to find a foundation or primer that can stop it.
Has anyone got any tips to stop the oil or even help it?

I have super oily skin as well. The closest I have found to my holy grail oil reducing foundations is the Rimmel matte foundation but it really can’t be applied to skin that is the slightest bit dry. Other than this, it works.
I find that for a full day or night out the Australis Fresh and Flawless powder just keeps all my foundations/ oil free BB creams set for the whole time and stops the oil from seeping through. It’s also cruelty free 🙂 It stays matte for a very long time but of course, with any makeup on oily skin it may cause slight breakout if not washed off properly. Hope this helps xo.

I also have extremely oily skin! It’s so hard to tame but I’m sure we will be thankful for it one day!
My favourite foundation and primer is loreal infallible matte 🙂 it stays on all day! It has a medium coverage but is really buildable for a full coverage! I always use a powder foundation to hold it in place too, but it has quite a powdery feel once set anyway 🙂

Oily skin is seriously the worst! I have the issue of going from Oily skin in general, to the Oily T-Zone daily. Ive found that using Napoleon skin renewal serum and AutoPilot primer, with Rimmel liquid Matte foundation helps minimise the amount of natural oil, (without stripping it) and give a flawless appearance! Hope this help x

Hey there! I have extremely oily skin too and I use the Rimmel stay matte primer with the Rimmel matte bb cream. On top of that I use a translucent powder! This combination ensures a shine free face every day! The products are also very cheap (I bought al mine on sale) and are amazing!!!

I use GARNIER Perfect Blur 5 sec Smoothing Base Perfector 22 mL as a primer. I find that it gives my skin a nice matte finish so I can apply my foundation nicely. I find it also helps control the oil during the day and will make my foundation last all day without during all oil and coming off with the slightest touch. It is a little pricey for the small tube but you don’t need much and I find it last a good 3 months using it most days.

I have THE oiliest skin on the planet and paired with the breakouts its a nightmare. If your skin is just oily but not prone to break outs I would highly suggest trying the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, it is the best I have found for oily skin. Unfortunately it breaks me out, otherwise it would have been my holy grail. Primer wise I would suggest the Becca ever matte one, it seems to help with the oil and pores.

I agree with the suggestions that you should not strip your natural oil.

It may sound couner-intuitive, but stripping natural oils can make your skin produce more oil to compensate. Skin can also overproduce oil when it is dehydrated (lack water).

I used to have an oily T zone which I spent much of my early twenties to combat. Only after I focus on hydration the oil procudction is controlled. It is not going to happen overnight. I also think the rose hip oil suggested by the others worth trying.

I’ve got a super oily t-zone and i find personally the best way to deal with the oiliness is to use an oil free face wash followed by a mattifying moisturiser, then matte primer under a matte foundation and then setting powder. Throughout the day i use blotting paper to get rid of excess oil.

I don’t have oily skin but my sister has and I’ve been trying everything to help her. I find rosehip oil has been having the best result so far. She also buys something called African soap from iHerb which she said is her holy grail.

Another thing I would recommend you trying even though it sounds counterintuitive is cleansing oil.

The best thing for you to avoid is anything that will try to strip those natural oils because then your skin will overcompensate and you will be more oilier than ever.

    Hi Thatbloggerjade!

My oiliness has reduced now that I’ve started to use facial oil – after a lifetime of carefully avoiding anything with added oil, it seems to be the best thing for it!

I should warn you that I experienced a bit of an adjustment phase with a few increased breakouts, but these were small, surface pimples. The rest of my skin felt so good that I pushed through this purging phase. My skin is in better condition now (I’m 49) than when I was in my 20s. Rosehip oil has worked best for me, but I’m still working my way through a list of facial oils to try. I’m sold.
