Has anyone tried OCM (oil cleansing method)?

I find this one of the simplest and quickest way to get radiant skin and it only takes 3 minutes: massage a few drops of your nourishing facial oil on dry skin for a couple of minutes, then apply a face washer soaked in hot water and wringed out and leave on your face for 20-30 seconds for a nice, spa-like steam. Reapply the steaming face washer again to remove any oil residue if needed. That’s IT! Feeling fabulous guaranteed 🙂

    i’m going to try OCM.

It’s easy to DIY my own, add 10-30% Castor oil + Oil of choice + 1 vitamin E Pill
    +polysorbate 80 + 1% essential oils

Have seen Moogoo carry a good range of OCM for different skin types.

Have been using oil cleansers for ages to remove makeup.

Gotta learn the technique for OCM “massage”

It’s supposed to help unlock clogs in the skin and help with blackheads/whiteheads.

    How do you

    a) do the OCM Massage

    b) steam your face?

Coconut oil? How did that go? I am a huge fan of coconut oil and would be great to oil cleanse first a few times a week. What are the major benefits?

I’ve just started to use coconut oil to cleanse my face and I’ve already noticed a difference.

I use coconut oil a couple of times a week in winter and every now and then in the warmer months. It really helps with dry skin irritated by heating and air conditioning and the cold winter weather. It really helps the skin feel hydrated and look dewy especially when it would usually be dry,

I tried this, but using Sukin’s body oil – just because it was the only oil I had on hand that wasn’t olive oil. The Sukin oil is a blend of different carrier oils plus essential oils. It worked quite well to remove my make-up actually.

I used a microfiber wash cloth, because they’re gentle on the skin and quick to dry. I didn’t do the steaming thing – I just massaged the oil in and then gently wiped my face with the cloth soaked in warm water.

I can’t say whether it would’ve made my skin break out or not, because I didn’t stick with it for long enough. But the oil cleansing method is the same premise as any cold cream or cream cleanser based skin care regime, where emollients have the ability to loosen up all the makeup and other crap on your skin.

In my personal experience, cold cream and cream cleansers end up making skin look dull, so I kinda assumed the same of oil. Who knows though. Maybe using pure oil that hasn’t been emulsified into a cream formula will actually be better.

I love The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Oil. It is so nourishing, cleans off all my makeup and smells so nice – very calming and relaxing. You apply it to dry skin and massage it into your face and neck, then add a little warm water which slowly breaks it down. It doesn’t foam so it is super gentle on the skin. I pair it with a muslin cloth for a more exfoliating finish. Love this stuff.

OMG YES!!!!!!! I am using the Shu Uemura Shupette version, but frankly even Palmers oil works for me to remove make up, and then I wipe it all of with a hot wet face washer a few times. I swear by it.

I find that this makes my acne-prone skin flare up, no matter what oil I use. 🙁

What sort of wash cloth do you use? Just a normal hand towel?
