Hi ladies, i’m looking for a good makeup course here in Victoria. Has anyone heard about Academy of Makeup ? They have certificate IV which is very interesting. I put the link below, i just wonder if it’s worth to try. I hope someone could help me. Thank you.

Tafe classes are great if you don’t have to work full time. I wish I could do it at tafe! Unfortunately I’m looking at $1500 for the course I want but it is on a Sunday!

You can also do make up courses at TAFE – they’re ALOT cheaper than courses run by private companies or institutions, as I think they’re subsidised by the government.
For example, I’m thinking of doing a course in Retail Makeup and Skincare next year, which they say is full time but its only 2 long days a week but it goes for 6 months. It costs $230 for fees, whereas if I did it at the Cameron Jane make up academy, it would cost $3300…
So I reckon investigating TAFE courses could be helpful. I’m not sure about short courses specifically, but cost-wise and time-wise they might be a handy option.
Btw this course is in the Sydney area, I’m not sure about Vic TAFE courses sorry 🙁
    Hope I helped 🙂

Im currently looking for the same thing, but in brisbane. the thing i really hate about the napoleon course is they force you to buy all their products! Ive heard their brush roll isn’t amazing ( and i already have a NARS brush roll!) and i don’t rate all of their products.
When i called to say i have my own brush roll and can i just use that instead of paying $450 for theirs they said no because i may get disadvantaged if i don’t have the same tools… But i’ve got 100+ makeup brushes already (slightly obsessed) !

I’m looking at doing my Cert 2 in makeup which combines a little of all three. Mostly makeup but there are elements of the others.

It’s approximately 8 weeks and varies from 1k to 3k. I’m looking in Sydney though.

Keep in mind the course you chose can affect your career options. I dont want to do movies or anything like that just formal and special event makeup.
