I haven’t used that one before, so don’t know how easily it comes off, but generally speaking, if you put some black eyeshadow over it, it should stay intact for longer.

I was going to suggest what Ms Jelena suggested. Sometimes just putting the same colour powder shadow over the top of the liner helps it stay on longer.

I would buy a different eyeliner if it smudges that bad…. But definitely try setting it with eyeshadow and see how you go.
I would suggest the wet n wild mega eyes cream liner from crush cosmetics. It has great staying power for me.

Oh and are you using a greasy eye cream? I found if the eye cream I use in my skin care routine is too oily I have all sorts of smudging problems with any eyeliner!

If you find it really doesn’t work, just buy a new one.

I have Australis’s automatic eyeliner (is that what they’re called? It’s the one where you twist the tube and it comes out) and I love it. It’s easy to put on and doesn’t smudge easily.

I’ve found Rimmel’s automatic waterproof eyeliner very hard to put on and I don’t like how it pulls on my eyes when I try to put it on, so I don’t recommend trying that one.

Hmm, I haven’t actually used that one myself but, are you giving it enough time to set after you apply it? Most products need a little bit of time to set. I second what all the other ladies here have said, make sure you’re not using a greasy eye cream or moisturiser in the area, and definitely go over the line with a stiff brush coated in a similarly coloured shadow, it always works for me!

Last tip, do you use a shadow primer? I do every day and I find it really keeps my liner from budging/creasing,

try giving your eyes a very light spray of hair spray after you apply the eye liner, you really should use a makeup setting spray, but you mentioned that you don’t want to buy anything and most people have hair spray in their cupboard. close your eyes when you spray and just leave them shut for a moment until the hair spray dries.
Good luck :) www.dollfacesylvania.com

Doesn’t it leave your face feeling sticky /hard?
I’d simply go over the liner with the same colour shadow that always does the trick:)

I reckon just chuck it out.
some good ones are total intensity eyeliners by Prestige (available at priceline) and NYX slide on pencils available at crush cosmetics.com.au and they’re both very decently priced
also do you have an eye primer? if you don’t, get one. if you do have one you could try dusting a bit of mattifying/oil control translucent powder over it and it might work better.
but the eyeliner is probably just crap…

I don’t recommend this! I’ve read some horror stories about what can happen when doing this and I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s cheaper to chuck it out and get a new one that to have reconstructive surgery done to your face

i’ve got oily lids and all i do is not use any kind of cream on the eye area, applying eyelid primer and then setting the liner with the shadow really does the trick. if i’m using a liquid liner i don’t even have to do that because it sets so well by itself. My favorite one is Rimmel glam eyes (i think? or professional) liquid liner or theres always gel liners like Bobbi brown which is super expensive but awesome and also I’ve heard that the Maybelline one is supposed to be really good and not budge all day!

Eyelid primer should help keep it on. I like Bare Escentuals. If you don’t have any primer try applying your foundation then powder to your lids. THEN do your eyemakeup. See how it goes.

Some eyeliners are just rubbish though! You might need to chuck it and get something else. I really like Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner.

The Australis pencil eyeliner actually lasts on you a couple of hours?
Mine creases within 30 minutes!

Unfortunately, there’s only so much you can do with a smudgy eyeliner!

Buy a new one! :)

Goodness me, please do not spray hairspray on your eyes!! That sounds as though it could be rather painfull!!! And I’m guessing most hairspray bottles will say avoid contact with eyes…

I suggest buying a new smudgeproof eyeliner. Maybelline Eye Studio has some great long lasting ones in different forms like gels and pencils. And please don’t hairspray your precious eyes! :s

Ive head you can get a tssue and lightly dab your waterline (if thats where your applying) to dry up any moisture which will make your eyeliner last loner and not run off.

I’m liking Australis Eyeshadow Primer – it really works in keeping your eyelids and lower eye area dry – so far I’ve used it with eye pencil and gel eyeliner and about 99% smudging that I experience sans primer is gone.

Maybe give the primer a try?
