Eyelash extensions, anyone had this done?

A couple of years ago I had to take a medication which had a known side effect of hair loss, everywhere! Most noticeably my hair and eyelashes 🙁 It is almost 2 years and they haven’t really come back, they are quite sparse and recently saw at salon they were offering extensions for $50-70. Anyone had them done? How long did they last? So tired of my lack of lashes I actually bought falsies and was surprised how different a nice set of lashes makes!

Chicklet yes I have heard that, but it wouldn’t matter as I have brown eyes anyway 🙂 but from what I read that there are no reported cases of that happening with the paint-on version, just a small report of it happening with the glaucoma drops version. Currently it is around $40 here, but takes several months to fully work but stops working when you stop painting it on. Next time I am at the dr I will ask him and see if he will let me.

Jess R thanks that was very helpful, I was sitting on the fence for a while, now you convinced me. I think I will stick to my own and just add falsies when I go out. There is a prescription eye drop that has a side effect of growing lashes, I think I will convince my Dr to give me a prescription, although it is very expensive as it is not on the PBS it is worth it as obviously good lash extensions are expensive and require upkeep (I honestly didn’t think every 2 weeks they would need it!). Thanks again 🙂

Thats very cheap so I would worry about the quality. I have had them done for special occassions and decided to keep up and get them refilled. I lasted a few months. For me I needed to get them redone every 2 weeks to keep them looking full and nice (even tho the salons will say 4-6 weeks for infills). Its time.consuming and pricey. Once I let them all fall off I did notice a bit of a reduction in the length and number of my original lashes.

I would recommend trying a fibre lash if you haven’t tried one already. Im currently testing out the younique brand one. I dont mind it but Im not loving it. I need to practise the application I think. Once my lashes are in better condition Inam going to try a lift and tint.

    Good luck!

Thanks for, that advice about the mink, I have no idea when it comes to these things, so only 2 weeks before they need more ? Hmm now I’m not so sure?

    Hi!
I’ve had them done a few times, the soft mink ones are the go. Usually the salon specials are the harder plastic ones which still look great but aren’t as comfortable. The only issue is they attach them to your natural eyelashes, so to achieve a full look you need to have a few to start with. They also fall out when your natural lashes fall out so if you decide to get them you will probably start needing refills within 2 weeks (which is cheaper than a full set). If you decide you don’t like them you can get them taken off by the salon using a glue remover. One friend had a bad reaction to the glue, so if you have sensitive skin I would flag this with the beautician first.
Other than that I think they look amazing and they save you $$ in mascara haha! Good luck, I think it’s worth giving a try at least once 🙂
