Dry Cutting

Has anyone tried dry cutting? I’ve been wanting to try it out but wondering if it’s any different to when it’s cut wet. Any differences or benefits?

I’ve had my hair washed first then blow dried and my hair cut dry which is great as you can see straight away the length and type of cut you are getting straight away. Definitely worth trying

I’ve had the best cuts from dry cuts. I’ve even started to do my own hair that way too (I have long hair so I can do it myself). It’s the best to get good layers in

I have thick and long hair. I preferred cutting it wet it’s much easier even i can cut it by myself.

I recently went to a new hairdresser who dry cut my hair for the first time (except when i’ve wanted to trim my fringe at home – didn’t work so well for me lol) and i prefer it to cutting when it’s wet. My hair was trimmed perfectly and it was the best haircut i’ve ever had. I guess it all depends on if your hair is curly or straight and the desired cut – layers, trim etc and how you normally style it.

I have thick hair and my hairdresser cuts it dry. It’s super long though, I don’t know if that has any impact. I’ve never been disappointed with her haircuts.

My hair is curly so dry cutting is the way to go for me. If I get a wet cut the layer at the nape of my neck which is straighter than the rest of my hair hangs down way further than all the other layers. Not cute.

My hairdresser cuts my hair dry on the ends but that because there’s its quite thin and she can. I dare say it would be harder with thicker hair though to get the same result. 😉

Rose-petals, my hairdresser has been dry cutting my hair as long as I’ve been going to her, which is several years BUT she wet cuts most people’s hair. I have super fine hair and she prefers to use this method with me and I’m never disappointed in the result. A good hairdresser will instinctively know which method is best for the individual.

All I know about it is I always trim my own fringe or fix up dodgy salon cuts with dry hair!
