Does Bio oil really work?

Has anyone tried using Bio oil on their scars? And does it really work?

I’ve started using it and I know it says it will take months for me to see an improvement but I just want to make sure I’m not wasting my time….

It depends on where your scars are and how serious you are about resolving them. Skin clinics have (only very slightly) involved procedures such as lasers/dermal rolling/ RF Facials which have proven results. I don’t see the point of wasting time and money on unproven topical creams when dermatologists and skin clinics have proven interventions.

Palmers scar treatment will help! 🙂

Vitamin E is also meant to be good to reduce scarring, buy the capsules and break them open.

I’ve just started using it as heard so much about it but so far can’t notice any difference. Hope I’m not disappointed like some of the others in this thread 🙁

I have used bio oil for years on acne scarring with no noticable difference. Like many others have commented it doesn’t seem to be absorbed by the skin, just sits on top. The bottle also really annoys me, I end up with oil everywhere. I really wanted it to be a miracle product but have since given up on it.

I used rosehip oil on a large scar over 15 years ago and wasn’t that impressed either, but the scar is 50cent piece size and who knows what it would look like if I hadn’t used the rho.

Bio Oil is great for light/new scars such as acne marks and scabs but as for very old and intense scars not so much. it does help a little though but no miracles

Rose hip oil is way better than Bio oil. I still use Bio oil, but only on areas of my body, I won’t use it on my face, it would sometimes cause a breakout, I think it was a bit too rich and oily and clogged my pores. Rose hip oil is a more natural alternative.

Didn’t work at all for me.. My everyday moisturiser does a better job than bio-oil ever did!
I am going to give rose hip oil a try next.

It doesn’t work for me. I use papaw ointment on my scars, and it definitely helps to fade them, but not get rid of completely 🙂

short answer = no, crap ingredients blergh ….. its just like a normal moisturiser really like a johnsons one or something.
