Cures for sunburn?

Hey guys!

I recently got sunburnt badly because I missed my upper back =(

I know Aloe Vera is a commonly suggested cure, but I was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions for the redness/soreness to go away?

Thanks beauties!

apply coconut oil on your sunburnt skin, you should get relief from any burning sensations, it will also help in healing your burns quicker. also coconut oil if applied before going in the sun will prevent you from getting sun burnt. I have applied coconut oil on my face and body and went golfing for hours in the sun and at the end of the day, I was not even burnt considering my skin is very light and I get burnt very easily. hope this helps, goodluck.

My husband got a bit of sunburn so being a loving wife (!) I rubbed aloe vera after sun into the red areas. The next morning I found the after sun downstairs and realised I’d carefully rubbed air freshener into his skin!!! He did smell lovely though!

When i got burned and red and all peely i used organic coconut oil. It appearently conditions your skin with its moisturizing properties. When i used it i found it absorbed into my skin quickly and i had to use it like 2 times a day. It worked over a course of a couple days and my back wasnt as red and dry. Hope this advice helps somebody out there :)( i know i am a bit late with my response)

I’m a big fan of Aloe Vera for any sunburn, kitchen burn etc. You can buy a cheap bottle for well under $10 at any chemist

Also some sunscreen brands make a post sun cream, we have a Nivea one here & it’s lovely & cooling. Great on any day you’ve been out in the sun a bit, even minus sunburn, once you’ve showered & freshened up

My thai friend swears by rubbing watermelon onto sunburnt area.
Husband is the guilty culprit in our family while at work forgets facial sunscreen-messy but it seems tot take the burn away.

    I always arrive late! lol

Next time try mixing white vinegar into bath water and soak for a while. I used a whole 2L for my bath. It neutralises the burn its actually really soothing.

If you dont have a bath you can always wipe vinegar across your skin that also helps a lot 🙂

Hi! Sunburn is absolutely terrible and I seem to be prone to getting burnt. I always buy the Auscreen After Sun Gel and the Banana Boat Aloe Mist After Sun Spray during every summer. They are really soothing and I find if you keep them in the fridge, they’ll also be really soothing and relaxing. I do recommend using these straight after being in the sun though and then over the next few days, rather than waiting until the burn shows up badly.

Hi Athy, well I believe that applying home remedies first are perfect instead of using any product. You can use Potato paste, Cool Milk Compress, Cornstarch Baking Soda, Plain Yogurt and Cucumber. These things will make you feel cool and help to reduce redness.
