Crepey dry eye lids

Help! My first major skin concern has arrived. I am getting crepey dry eye lids with fine lines. I have naturally hooded eyes and the dryness is becoming obvious in the inner eye area. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Most eye creams and eye serums state not to apply on the actual eye lid so not sure if this is stated purely for liability issues.

Ooh I didn’t know that I wasn’t supposed to put eye cream on my lids. I’ve been doing that for years and a lady at Mecca said that I had really good undereyes lol. Granted, I’m only 24 though. I have hooded lids too and my Neutrogena ‘oil free’ makeup remover dried out my lids like crazy recently! There was actually a bit of skin peeling off 🙁 I went against the rules and dabbed some of the Invite vitamin E cream on it and my eyes are ok now.

You can use eye cream on your lids as long as it’s a natural product or you don’t have a reaction to it. Vitamin E cream is fine and great for healing dry skin =)

Yeah I do love my Vitamin E cream 🙂 I’ve been using the Lush enchanted eye cream ever since then and it’s wonderful too!

I would try the TINIEST amount of rose hip oil gently dabbed on.
just be careful though, if you get oil in your eye it feels really bad!

Really? Lol I’ve gotten my RO in my eye plenty of times & it didn’t sting or cause any bad reaction.

I totally feel you! I also have hooded eyes. Thankfully I don’t have any crepey dry eye lids yet, but I do have some fine lines at the outer corners, which I’m paranoid about getting worse.

I highly recommend what I’ve been using lately – Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ all over my face including eyes (on top of my eyelids too) & I found zero irritation. I actually rub a little of the RO between my fingers & apply it to my eyelashes too, to nourish them & prevent brittle lashes. It’s also great if you’re trying to grow your eyebrows back! That’s a tip directly from the company btw. I think as long as the product is 100% organic & natural, it’s perfectly safe to use on your eyelids. In your case it sounds like you definitely need to. Ofc everyone’s different so do a test first in case you have a reaction, especially if it’s a chemical product.

I’m also a fan of using various serums & currently trialing a sample eye cream from Skinceuticals my dermatologist gave me.

So yeah, rosehip oil/other skin oils, a good serum & eye cream safe to use on the entire eye area works a treat!

    Good luck =)

Have you tried any oils or serums?
I am using a vitamin c 25% and vitamin e in a jojoba carrier oil eye serum for my dry lids and eyes and finding this works amazing because it soaks in. Its really affordable and it just soaks right in. Really working for me and my dry eyelids.
Let us know what is working for you.

This sounds like a really nice product Ray_jay!
    What is it?

    Its a moogoo one.
Moogoo Vitamin c eye serum. It’s got 25% vitamin c,25% vitamin e and 50% jojoba oil. Nothing else. Soaks straight into the eyes! It’s amazing.

Thank you!! I have seen that online will check it out at health food shop when I am there next xo

Roxy, I dab a tiny bit of Lucas paw paw on top of my lids and in the outer corners at night. I pat in on and don’t rub it in. I do this just before I go to bed because it can get it my eyes if I’m awake and can irritate.

I hope you find something that works for you.

I missed this tip first time around. I’m getting the crepiness coming in at my crease. I’ve got Lucas paw paw ointment too. I’m going to give this a go (& I must write a review!)

I get creepy under my eyes (I am in my 40’s) and when I wear concealer for my dark circles I get crepey and I look for creased that normal. Is is one or the other?

    I have tried:
Under Eye cream (Ella Bache Eternal Eye Gel)
Light reflective primer (a silicone and micro primer)
Concealer for older skin (Maybelline Age Rewind Undereye Concealer)
    Normal concealer (Maybelline Fit Me)
    Long-wearing concealer (Rimmel 24 hour)

Can anyone suggest a concealer that doesn’t cause crepiness or a technique that works?

If I don’t use a setting powder it goes into the creases, and when I use the ELF under eye setting powder I look 100.

    Help????
