Can anyone recommend a good facial serum to use that is oil free and budget friendly

Hi beautyies

Can anyone please recommend a good facial serum u use prior to putting on your moisturiser in the day and in the nite.

I have combination skin so I suffer from a oily tzone area so am looking for something light to wear during the day and something for the nite which will not oil my face.

I have tried a few and so far I have not had any luck on them.

Ones I have tried is: A facial oil by Model Co, Sukin brand and so far they are both very oily on my skin.

Id love to hear from you all if you have tried any and can recommend me a few.

I have a question. I recently purchased Vit E oil and I have been adding a couple of drops of Vit E oil together with a couple of drops of Jojoba oil to my Monsia Intense Night Repair cream applied to neck. Would you consider this as a serum? It seems to be working to keep neck well hydrated and smooth and no turkey neck!

I think if you have oily skin, any serums is not recommended as I have dry skin and they always suggest ” additional ” serums or oils to apply before any creams. All serums are all based far as I know so you are better off using organic products or apply a good quality oil-free cream therefore making any additional serums unnecesary. That’s just my opinion of course .

Have you thought about using organic oils as part of your skin care plan? I’ve found them to be very helpful. Dealing with oily skin, especially when it is only in some areas, can make skin care difficult. THere is always the need to moisturize but it can be harder when you are trying to make sure that skin is not too oily.

If the serum doesn’t work for you then I’d seriously recommend trying an organic oil product. You can get the oils pure or have them in skin cream form. Both ways will yield positive results. I’ve been using avocado oil for months now and my skin has never looked so good.

I’d like to put in a vote for jojoba too. I tried it after Nature_Girl’s recommendation in another thread. My skin is oily. I had a period of my skin getting used to it though, some small surface pimples, which I just attribute to the radical change because I’ve spent my life carefully avoiding anything vaguely like an oil on my oily skin. I persisted because the rest of my skin felt amazing.

I wouldn’t call the Johairba products budget friendly, as it is a big investment to buy at first, but the bottles size 200ml and they last forever so you do the math.
Efficiency score on oily skins, blemishes, scaring etc 10/10 it is my secret weapon for the perfect skin.

Have a look at Essence of Wellbeing’s Clear Skin Moisture Serum it may fit the bill.

It contains Jojoba Oil but as Petal has pointed out earlier in the thread it is not actually an Oil (despite its name). Jojoba Oil is almost identical organically-speaking to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by your skin.Studies on jojoba oil have shown that it has the ability to prevent the skin from becoming too oily. This is due to the fact that putting jojoba oil on our skin can trick our cells into thinking they have produced enough oil.

I have the super greens facial recovery serum and it I do not find it oily at all. It comes out as a milky liquid and absorbs really quickly into the skin. Another non oily serum like product is people for plants hydration gel. It actually contains no oil whatsoever. See reviews here (including mine)

I have dry skin, so I am not the best person to suggest a product for oily skin. Since nobody has responded to your question so far, I thought I would suggest a non-oily serum by Trilogy called Nutrient Plus Firming Serum.

You could also try jojoba oil. Technically, jojoba is not an oil, but a waxy ester. I have read great reports by people with oily skin as it has often helped to balance out excess oil.

I know that you have already tried a Sukin product, but they have a new serum that could be suitable because its first ingredient is water. It is called Super Greens – Facial Recovery Serum.
