Blocked pores on nose!!!

My skin therapist told me to have microdermabrasion done to get rid of the pores on my nose which are really visible and gross. But microdermabrasion is expensive. Does anyone have other remedies apart from using the pore strips?

I love Biore cleansers, especially the warming anti-blackhead cleanser. It’s the first product I’ve used where I saw a visible difference to the entrenched blackheads across my nose.
After cleansing, I might try Nature_Girl & Bobbin01’s jojoba oil advice. I like the idea of Nature_Girl’s baking soda/ jojoba oil paste. Is there anything baking soda can’t do?

I’m with NatureGirll on the jojoba oil. I also have lots of blackheads and congestion on my nose and chin and pore strips never worked. I paid a ridiculous amount of money to get a facial and skin analysis from Ella Bache ages ago and all the products they advised me to use were jojoba based… stupidly I paid their obscene prices for their products… something like $250 later, before I realised what the key ingredient was. Now I just use jojoba oil which costs FAR less than that and my skin is heaps less congested

My pores have become significantly reduced and less blocked since i’ve been using the Olay Regenerist Cleansing System that I got in my Glosscars prize pack. I think the brush bristles must help reach into and clean out the little pores, as when I don’t use it I notice it’s not as clean.

I must remember to buy one of these next time I see one on sale. Thanks for reminding me Imi11!

I would recommend getting a facial ASAP, they are great for clearing up blocked pores. I recently booked an amazing facial on this new beauty booking system called Glamazon, it’s free to download on the App store and they offer discounted prices for users. I paid $69 for my facial which was valued at $120. Now my whole face is glowing and my pores have been significantly minimised.

I found that my pores took on a larger appearance when they became clogged up with dirt, oil or dead skin cells and I used to become really self conscious about it! 🙁 The only thing I found that helped was to cleanse twice a day and exfoliate often to keep the pores clean and unclogged. I guess microdermabrasion basically does the same thing but quite expensive.
When I use chemical based products or makeup it tends to worsen, or occur more frequently and so have switched over to making my own skin care remedies from my kitchen, e.g. face masks but also use only natural skin care, such as A bit hippy. I’ve found it has improved quite significantly since. Hope this helps. 🙂

Hey there. I’m not a super expert on this topic but I’d like to share what I do understand and hope that you can save on the microdermabrasion.

Nose pore strips can help remove the stubborn blackheads but does leave many gaping pores, allowing bacteria, dust etc to settle in the open pore. That doesn’t sound too nice.

Another method to remove blackheads is to use a blackhead ‘melting’ method as well such as the Laneige Blackhead Melting Gel, Suiskin Potency Pore Eraser, facial scrubs, cleansing masques etc.

After removing the blackhead, remember to use pore minimising products to get rid of the open pore. Look out for pore minimising products that comes in different forms such as serums, toners, masks etc.

There’s also a couple of things to think about. What’s causing your blackheads? Excess sebum, wrong skin care, makeup clogging the skin etc are factors that you should evaluate on.

Also, are your blackheads really ‘visible and gross’ as your therapist said or did she emphasised this issue just to ‘make a sale’? I’m sorry for even suggesting this and sorry to you beauty therapists out there, but I realised this does happen often and patients get pressured into spending money on expensive procedures.

I hope this helped you, Beautyhelpme. Good luck!

I’ve never tried these but have you heard of biore blackhead remover for your nose.

I would suggest you try using Jojoba Oil as it is almost identical organically-speaking to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by your skin. Jojoba Oil penetrates into the skin without clogging pores and is suitable for all skin types it contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin.

Initially to get rid of the stubborn deep blackheadsclogged pores, I would recommend that you use a baking soda/jojoba/water paste with extremely gentle circular massaging motions to break up the worst blackheads. Dont overdo it, just massage in the baking soda/jojoba/water paste gently for a minute or two. Rinse with warm (not hot) water. Apply more jojoba oil and massage with a warm washcloth.

The idea is to get those plugs out (blackheads), and get the jojoba oil in there to keep the sebum liquid and flowing. This may take some time as the skin reacts to drying by pumping out oil, and the turnaround you’re going for is a natural distribution of oil which will leave your skin soft and balanced.

Microdermabrasion I believe can be achieved by using a dermaroller. I have purchased a couple but not used them. They are also supposed to help with acne, scars, cellulite, stretch marks… I would look into them.
