Beauty shopping in the US

Hi Ladies,

I’m off to the US on Saturday and have started to compile my beauty shopping guide.
I’m interested to hear about beauty/skincare products I should buy, I’m really after interesting brands/products not available here.
As the exchange rate is so low, it’s not worth lugging back some stuff I can get here ie modernist palette is $58 usd xe.com today makes it $74 aud and its $76 at mecca anyway.

Thanks in Advance

Oooh you can make your Mac eyeshadow/blush palette while you’re over there, *PrettyPrincess*! I would also recommend Lorac products especially their Pro eyeshadow palettes if you don’t already own those as they are more pigmented, blendable and much more consistent in formula than the Urban Decay Naked palettes. Speaking of contouring products, you can check out the Smashbox contour sticks (which aren’t available here yet) or the new Marc Jacobs Beauty contour duos. There’s also the new Nyx intense butter glosses if you’re looking for affordable liquid lipsticks.

I recommend checking out Nouveau Cheap’s beauty blog because she really keeps up with the latest releases in US drugstore beauty and sales 🙂

Not sure why it’s coming up an an Australian blog but she’s definitely in the US.

I started following nouveau cheap, turns out ulta is having some crazy specials in March!!

Yayyyy you’re going to have a blast of a time! 😀

Id be heading to the MAC store and buying LIME CRIME.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m on the anti lime crime team, I’m appalled at their business attitude and behaviour.

I really wanted to go to Ulta whilst I was in the US last year, but there weren’t any around where I was travelling (same with Sally’s Beauty too) sadly. Sephora still got a fair chunk of my $ though. If I ever get to go back, going to an Ulta store will be on my to-do list!

PrettyPrincess I’m green with envy! I’ve never been to the US. I would love to go there just for the shopping. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Ulta! I miss Ulta! Sephora has some great stuff too, but Ulta has great stuff and they have good sales. 🙂

Lorac and It Cosmetics are difficult to get in Australia (although not impossible), so they would be worth checking out 🙂
