beauty bummed :(

Good afternoon all!
It seems since becoming a Mum (my daughter just turned one on Sunday) I’ve managed to find myself in a severe beauty rut.
My skin is dull, my hair is frizzy and limp, my clothes are outdated, my beauty products are ancient and boring and I cant seem to keep up with my eyebrows (stop growing you guys!)
I never seem to have the extra funds (or time for that matter) to pick myself up and I turn have hit an all time confidence low.
To put it bluntly, I feel crap about myself. Its been a long time since I’ve walked away from the mirror feeling good and I’m darn well sick of it. I want my confidence back!
I’ve been scouring BH for days looking for a new hairstyle or idea for a new beauty regime, but my question is: What can I do to get myself out of this, without spending all my savings? What is your go-to pick me up when you feel down in the beauty dumps? Help!

Oh gee thank you every one!
I can’t help but tell myself it was just a lucky shot (lol) its the first photo I’ve taken of myself in the past year that I’ve been confident enough to post online, but hey I’m working on it!
Thanks again for all the kind words every one 🙂
BH has got to be the loveliest website Ive ever come across, and after years of being an unproductive member I’m glad I’ve actually found the time to post and participate. All you gals give me the warm and fuzzies

I’ve only just checked back in after a long week of no credit, to a wonderful surprise indeed! This site never ceases to lift me up, the kind and supportive atmosphere in here is almost as overwhelming as my one year old can get (hehe)
Thank you so much Lin! What a beautiful gesture!
Since I posted last I did in fact dust off that fake tan and I feel so much better! I’ve vowed to start putting more effort into myself and my self esteem and I’m happy to say, so far so good! Its been a long time coming that’s for sure. 🙂

That’s beautiful! And what we’re all here for: to pick each other up when we’re down. Everyone comes from a different experience and can help in their own way. I hope that all the advice and info these wonderful ladies are giving you will help.

Definitely fake tan! I find it’s a great way for me to feel sexy again! Take a long relaxing bath and a hot cup of herbal tea, use some essential oils in the bath to calm yourself, and try some epsom salts to relax your muscles. You might be tensing up from the stress and unhappiness you’ve been experiencing. Take the bath before you tan though! Laying in water for a long time can slowly remove your tan. Also exfoliate your body, you might find some truly glowing skin underneath that will boost your confidence!

With clothes, hit up the Op Shops! You’ll find now that the fashion that’s on trend currently sometimes channels the old school fashion! I regularly shop at op shops and I’m not afraid to say it 🙂

Even though I’m not a parent I can empathise with how you’re feeling. When I get a break to relax, because I don’t have the money to go all out often, I make my own face masks and hair masks. You can find heaps of easy-to-make recipes online, I’d post some if it wouldn’t make my reply so huge! I always look for ones involving stuff I already have or buy extra of certain things so I have em handy for these. It’s so cheap and you can see/feel the difference! Only problem is a lil messy and maybe extra time consuming since you gotta make em but if you can get the time it’s definitely worth giving it a shot! Good luck getting out of your beauty rut!

I bought the Ulta3 moisturising lippy and did a review on it. For 3.95 its not bad at all !
