AHAs in skincare

Can I please get some advice re AHAs in skincare?

I’m looking at changing from Clinique to either ASAP Or Ultraceuticals but most of the products recommended to me in each brand have AHAs. I know they are a good thing, but aren’t I doing my skin harm doubling/tripling up on AHAs?

SoMuchPretty has the right advice, I would choose one AHA product, my choice would be a night serum and I would start off using it twice a week, and slowly building up your tolerance. Overuse can be not great, I find I get rough, flaky patches and sometimes an itchy rash when I use it too often. Slow and steady wins the race with AHA’s.

I had spoken to a customer service assitant at the facial co (online skin care site) about the use of AHAs she said in a scrub or wash even if its a high percent its not not going to damage your skin but with any leave on products if the perecent is high just use it once to twice a week and most serums that are to be used daily with ahas have a much lower percent so it shouldnt strip your skin. Thanks so much for your help 🙂 I’ll watch out for the AHA content and chat with my beauty therapist.
