Annyex.

Has anyone tried Blackmores bio zinc?
I looked in the reviews but I still need more opnions about it. I read the info when I was at my chemist, and was told it would treat acne. But also it mentioned that it would improve the male reproductivity (!?!?)
I mean should I be taking this or is this for males only? Lol
Thank you girls-and guys.

Annyex I’ve been taking zinc supplements for almost 4 years. They’re great for both your skin and your immune system (as well as men’s fertility!!). There are different formulations of zinc – so just go for the one indicated for healthy skin, or for immune support.

Haha Thanks a lot Elmo! You’re such a sweetie
I read the label it supports the immune system, as well as skin ie acne and men’s fertility.
Should I might as well get it? Coz I think theres only one type of bio zinc by blackmores..

People with acne need zinc because it kills bactera and is a known anti-acne mineral.

Men need zinc because it makes healthy abundant sperm.

Blackmores do a great Skin Support Formula for people, particularly teenages, who are suffering from acne or constant pimple breakouts. Bio Zinc is a great choice also, and so is Blackmorse Skin, Nails and Hair formula, although it seems to focus more on the importants of biotin rather than zinc.

Hope my post helps darl.

No probs annyex. I think I take a nature’s own formula – but each to their own. Good luck! :)

Annyex I’m prob the same! Though I am trying to be good at the moment, particularly coz I’m so short of cash due to a recent move out of home! But I do have to replace what I run out of…!! And I do love a good trip to Priceline! :)

I take zinc for my skin and i think its made an improvement, i dunno if it’s blackmore’s though…i was on fish oil tablets too but then turned vego so i stopped taking them and i think my skin has got worse (though not as bad as it was). Are there any non-animal based replacements for fish oil?

Naturopathically speaking, it would depend what is causing your acne. It’s not as simple as zinc=acne cured. Yes, zinc can be good for the skin and immune system.
From a naturopathic point of view, acne is often the result of the liver/bowels not functioning as well as they could be, which can result in this stuff being eliminated through your skin instead of these other channels.
Try the zinc, but at the same time cut down on alcohol, processed foods, excess sugary stuff, and increase water, fruit and veg, which will help your liver function better as there will be less toxins floating around your body, and will also aid bowel function.
Hope this is helpful

Hi thanks for the welcome :)
It’s such an interesting course. It’s a lot of nutrition, and herbal medicine. Hopefully I’ll be able to pop in from time to time, between assignments.

I’ve started to take biozinc a few days ago and i was wondering how long it took to see MAJOR improvements. like, if you had acne before and now you don’t, or if your skin always has this glow, how long did it take until you saw results?
