Im probably over reacting now but this problem is really starting to effect my lifestyle.
I getting extremely anxious very easily. Each thursday i wait until my partner comes home then i go do the weekly grocery run. From the moment he finishes work i start to get anxious. He has a 25 minute drive home so the entire time i get butterflys in my stomach and i start freaking out that he is going to be late. If he is more then 5 minutes late i start to comtemplate if i should call him just so i can get an idea of when he’ll get home. By the time he is home im sweating heavily and have gone to the bathroom several times. Even when im driving to the shops im anxious and still sweating because i just want to get in there and get it started. This is just an example, it also happens when im getting ready to go out and im waiting for someone to pick me up. Dont even get my started on getting all my licenses, i recently got my full license after failing twice. I nearly threw up from nervousness.
Do you think im just a drama queen?

No, you’re not a drama queen at all. It definately sounds like you have anxiety but it may just be a mild case so if it’s starting to effect your daily life then you should make an appoinment asap to see your doctor. From there they will decide whether you should get a refferal to a specialist or be on medication. Keep in mind most anxiety medications are addictive, so it’s better to see a specialist where you have the opportunity to learn coping methods and breathing techniques to ease your anxiety. different things work for different people and i suffer with anxiety, but i’m definatley not a doctor so you’ll need to speak to a professional to get the best advice.

Oh and i’ll just add that there are many sites with tips on calming nerves and different relaxation methods.. this might help with the smaller side of your nervousness and anxiety. Breathing plays a big role so try and slow down your breathing when you get anxious.

Great advice Naomi! Make up magic, it definitely sounds like anxiety that you need to speak about with an understanding GP, who might refer you to a therapist. I was treated with CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) for panic disorder and it really did help a great deal. Most impotantly, don’t be ashamed of how you feel, as it’s nothing uncommon – countless people suffer from similar problem, and it is treatable. Best of luck xx

It sounds kinda like me. I have generalised anxiety disorder..
I get anxious about a lot of things, sometimes a bit depressed, obsessive or paranoid. it’ll usually start off as fast heart beat, butterflies, bit sweaty, then I’ll start getting a feeling in my stomach like I might vomit. If I get bad I can make myself hyperventilate, physically sick, even faint in some situations.

I used to see a psychologist and she recommended breathing techniques and meditation. she also told me I could try medications but I didn’t want to! I don’t think it helped much at all and one time I got there and she was like “sorry I’m really busy can we do this another time?” and we made another appointment but because of how I am I just made an excuse and never went again. seems silly now, but although I didn’t think it was working, I felt really let down and then I started getting paranoid.

It might very well be worth you seeing someone though, just to have a chat, see if there’s a real problem and to maybe see if there are any techniques that might help you.

It sounds like you are suffering from Anxiety. I suggest you have a chat to your doctor about it and see what they recommend.

I am by no means a doctor but you sound like you may be suffering from panic attacks because your symptoms are very much like those that a friend of mine gets. If this is what you have it doesn’t mean you are a drama queen but that you are suffering from anxiety. I’d see a doctor about it though for a proper diagnosis.

thanks a million for all the friendly advice. i always try to calm myself down when it happens but for some reason it dosnt work and my heart start pounding and my hands start shaking. i think i will see a doc, it seems to be getting worse over the most basic things.
