Need to prevent blisters!!

I am going overseas for a month very soon and I am participating in a couple of week-long hikes. I have got hiking shoes, and they are worn in, but blisters are still going to be a problem.

Any advice on how I can prevent them from appearing on my feet? Can I harden my skin?

I also do a lot of hiking. Good quality hiking socks also help, they are expensive but are worth it.

Get the biggest fabric adhesive band aids you can find and stick them inside your shoe, on the inside heel of the shoe and not your foot. I always do this to break in new shoes and I never get blisters. I remember reading somewhere that blisters in hiking boots are usually caused by ill-fitting socks, don’t know the merit in that but something to think about.
