Strength treatment for nails

I bought the Sally Hansen Quick Care Strength Treatment.

My nails always break, split and are weak mostly due to medications I need to take.

The instructions tell me to; Apply 1-2 coats to dry, bare nails every other day.

Does this mean I use a nail polish remover to take it off each time and then reapply?

Seems a bit pointless to me, this stuff is like a coating on your nails that hardens and goes shiny.

Anyway, If I’m having to take it off, what type of nail polish remover should I buy/use please?

I’m very much a novice at this sort of thing and the SH website didn’t give me any helpful hints on how to use their product at all. 🙁

If you are having to take it off, I would suggest using Cutex strengthening nail polish remover. That, in itself should help strengthen your nails! 🙂

It has been so long since I have logged onto BH… life has been pretty hectic lately!
I am in LOVE with the Hard as Hoof Nail Strengthening cream!
Only used it a few times so far and I have already noticed a difference in my nails and the strength. And it also smells exactly like cherry Starburst chews! 🙂 Yum!

So disappointed that it isn’t easily accessible in Aus, as it costs more to post the cream here than it does for the actual product!

I’ve been using it for a couple of days now and I think I’m a convert. My nails already feel stronger. It’s a shame it’s not readily available over here.

I’ve read reviews on it, it sounds amazing!

Just found this thread, and all these suggestions are very helpful!

I am currently looking into some good nail strengtheners so I have made a mini list of ones I am interested in. I have some Sally Hansen ones, an Avon one and a Manicare one but all seem pretty so-so… but then again I have always been pretty slack with keeping up with a regular care routine for my nails (something that I really wish to change!)

The Avon one I have been using lately has seemed to make a difference in my nails after applying it every day for a few days now. But for me I get impatient and want to see results noooow haha

Try OPI’s Original Nail Envy! I swear it will be worth it. Your nails will become strong within the week or so and I swear, this product has been a life saver for my nails. You just apply two coats on the first day and then reapply one coat the next day or the day after (depending on the severity of your nails) I’ve been using it since last year and ever since I’ve been using it, my nails look and feel like they’re permanently attached to the nail plate. My friends always compliment me on how strong they are, they always think they’re fake!
When your nails are healthy, they naturally start to grow faster and are less prone to breakage and peeling. I’ve never seen my nails feel so strong or look so healthy! It’s an amazing product! Only negative aspect is the price. I believe it is overpriced here and it’s unbelievable how much you have to pay for it (I think it’s around $35). However, the results will throw you overboard! I recommend this product for anyone who is struggling with weak, brittle, peeling or flimsy nails.

Thank you for your reply *rose-petals*! It sounds like something I need haha
I will definitely be sure to have a scout around to see if I can find it at a reasonable price.

After a bit of extensive research, I have decided to buy a hand cream called ‘Hard as Hoof’. There are quite a lot of rave reviews on it from a few websites, so I am keen to give it a try!
The hand cream comes in a 1oz (28.35gm) and comes in Shea Butter scent and apparently it is supposed to improve the quality and appearance of the nails and strengthen them as well, so I am looking forwards to receiving it in the mail in a few weeks time to try it out!

How’s the product! It sounds amazing!

I just read some reviews on ‘Hard as Hoof’ Kamillyon & have now purchased some. It does sound like a good product.
