Who has a great remedy for hair fall out?

I’ve been suffering from serious hair fall out. Yes, it’s summer and it’s possibly a case of seasonal fall, however I’m shedding worse than my dog and I’m really concerned. Whenever I wash or brush my hair, loads of hair comes out. If I run my fingers through my hair, hair comes out. If I shake my hair, hair comes out. If I get off a chair or my pillow, hair comes away. It’s freaking me out! I’ve changed hair shampoos and conditioners, brushes, used scalp oils, tried rinses, to no avail. HELP!

I’ve only just seen this thread, so here’s my 2c worth 🙂

Easier said than done, but try not to stress, because that can cause hair loss. And take biotin supplement – it is great for hair, skin and nails – it works wonders for me and I get so many little baby hairs and my hair stops falling out too.

I did a blog post on this a few years back when I went through a similar thing 🙂

    Xx

Thanks Ms Jelena. I’ll try that. I also message my scalp with olive oil or coconut oil every other day. fingers crossed it will work!

Hey lovely ladies, thank you all for your very prompt responses. I’ve not had any major surgeries, in fact I’ve been very lucky and have never had one before (touch wood). The only two things I can think of would be stress or hormones. I’m losing enough hair to substitute the need for a bath plug, really. I made an appointment to see my trusty GP this afternoon, as it’s driving me nuts!

Hi, Did you end up going to the GP? What did they say?
I’ve also got the same problem. I’ve been losing so much hair like crazy.

Yes as the girls say the first step should be a doctor blood test and see whats going on and whats missing in your diet! most of the time it is an iron deficiency or a thyroid problem that can be fixed with proper treatment. If hopefully it is all good, change your shampoo and find a more natural SLS free, it seems to help a lot with thin hair, just usual care should help, oil massages to the scalp are great too, you can use any oil from olive to argan oil or you can add drops of essential oils to it, ice you try you get addicted, it is very easy and cheap, my best recepe would be avocado oil for dry hair and jojoba oil for normal hair, and add drops of lavender or bay st thomas… if none of this help there are good hair loss treatments on sale online, my brother uses the uk hair solutions treatment since he was 16 and his hairline started receding, he buys it online on ukhairsolutions.com and it is shipped from the UK in a week, i havent tried but his hair stopped falling as soon as he started using it and tell all his friends about, so you could try that if your hair loss gets serious.

I KNOW YOUR PAIN. This is an on going hassle for me as well. It’s so terrible, I can’t even fix up my hair after a big wind gust and not lose a handful of hair. Worst thing ever. And I fully sympathise. I’ve been trying out oils and natural remedies but honestly, nothing has worked. I do think its stress related though. I myself do stress a lot. But even when I wasn’t stressing, it was the same. 😞

Hi! I’ve suffered from hair loss in the past too and know how stressful it can be! But the worst thing you can do is stress more about it!

Anyway, probably already been said, but these are the most common reasons for excessive hair loss I can think of atm:

Firstly, Look up the different types of hair loss online – Diagnosing what type of hair loss you suffer from is the first step to treating it. You may have heard about terms like Androgenic alopecia, involutional alopecia, telogen effuvium, etc.

    1. Stress – excessive hair loss usually occurs 2-4 months *after* a major stressful event (telogen effuvium).

    2. Diet/Vitamin Deficiencies – I would recommend a full blood test done by your GP, making sure to get a *full blood count* including checking your Thyroid. Make sure you have plenty of protein in your diet, iron especially is important for healthy hair growth (if you’re vegetarian/vegan look into alternatives) make sure you’re eating plenty of lean red meat, fish, eggs & healthy fats.

    3. Medication side effects – from personal experience – many antidepressants/anti-psychotics can cause hair loss. Check all your other meds for hair loss side effects. Even stopping the Pill suddenly can cause hair loss! (So check any hormone-related issues or medications too).

    4. Determine whether it’s actual hair loss OR hair breakage. Take a few hairs that have fallen out and look closely at the root – there should be a little bulb at the end – this means the hair has fallen out (remember it’s completely normal to lose 50-150 hairs per day. Sometimes even up to 200 during seasonal changes!)… Hair breakage is different and occurs when your hair is very weak/damaged – and well – it looks broken. If the latter, be gentle with your hair care routine.

Hope that helps a bit and all the best! 🙂 xx

this is a great comment too 🙂 thanks
