What’s the best purple shampoo you’ve used?

Hey Beauties,
I’ve just recently gone back to blonde after having darker hair for 4 years and just looking for some recommendations on purple shampoo!
In the past I’ve used De Lorenzo Novafusion Silver, but I found it too strong for long term use.

Thanks!
xoxo

I tend to agree with misfortune8, I do prefer purple conditioners/treatments as you can let them sit for a longer time on your hair. I have been known to leave mine in overnight or even all day at work (pulled back in a bun) because I am lazy and hate washing my hair. My hairdresser usually makes me up a personalized purple treatment, but I’ve also used a few purple shampoos in my time. I’m currently finishing off an O & M conquer blonde shampoo, which is highly pigmented ( so much so it stains my white tiles if I don’t wipe it off quickly ). Its meant to be less harsh then other sulphate bashed shampoos but I still found it rather stripping. I’ve also used the Unite Blonda shampoo, which smell amazing and again is highly pigmented. The Alfaparf purple shampoo is also good. I know most of these are on the expensive side, but are super pigmented and typically a bottle will last me around 6 months of using it once a week.

The previous post by Jescaaar looks like spam to me – which I’ve reported.

My hair dresser just got a new purple shampoo in, it’s called no yellow the brand is Fanola, unfortunately I can’t find it on BH site but it’s amazing! I have bleach blonde hair and it tones the yellow amazingly and I leave it in longer to give me a silver colour to my blonde, I tone my hair one to two times a week depending on how long it’s been since I was last at the salon, I also used to use fudge purple shampoo but I found that in parts of my hair that were more white from bleach, it would really stick and I would have purple streaks which were really noticeable lol, so far I haven’t had an issue with the purple from this ‘no yellow’ shampoo it tones really nicely even though I leave it on for the max time.
I think I paid around $20 from the salon for it for a 350ml size.
I’ve included a photo in case anyone is interested in trying to get one.

Purple shampoos are so expensive, but I’ve always preferred the purple conditioners. Shampoo isn’t on your head for as long, so you can use your usual shampoo. Conditioner can be left on as a mask for a few minutes, an hour, even overnight if you plait your hair & use an old or dark pillowcase.

I like using Schwarzkopf toner occasionally, listed on bh here: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hair/hair-colour/44098-schwarzkopf-nordic-blonde-blonde-toner

    Hi Beauties,

Thanks sunjeanie for posting this I had the same question! Just go my hair with light foils & was told to use a purple shampoo so now I have some recommendations.

Ladies does this replace your normal shampoo and do you use it daily? Because I have fine hair I tend to use volumizing shampoo to bounce it up more and don’t know how the change will work if it will flatten my hair more but I def don’t want orangey hair if I don’t use it LOL!

You Really want to avoid applying too much product to the top because it can weigh your hair down.

I’ve tried so, so many purple shampoos over the years, and I find it really depends on personal tastes and what you value. Fudge Clean Blonde is amazing, but it is super, super, SUUUUUUUPER pigmented. Lee Stanford does a Beach Blonde line which is less pigmented and smells amazing. Tigi has their Dumb Blonde line, which I personally find overpriced, especially compared to what Fudge has on offer. And Lush makes a purple shampoo as well which is excellent, especially if you value more natural products.

Fudge Clean Blonde & DeLorenzo Novafusion. I have heard and seen results of Fanola on Instagram a lot lately. I’m going to buy and try that when I find a local salon that stocks it!

I use Bhave bombshell blonde (when I have had a keratin treatment in my hair) and I also like Juuce kool blonde shampoo. They are both good at neutralising brassy tones, whilst cleansing and hydrating hair.

I would recommend Fudge purple shampoo. It’s my favourite!
